I can imagine papers headlines if MJ decides to come back, they can look like that :D

I just thought it's weird that in an episode in which Michael (actually someone who is a good imitator) sings the song the word HOAX appears while he's singing.
-
No, I think it really is Michael. That song was originally for LMP, right?

Well, actually the original did not make onto the show. I know Michael wrote it and sang it, but the one on the show was sung by someone who sounds a lot like him, or so I've been told.

Yeah. Here it says that Michael did dialogue and some imitator named Kipp did singing for the show. But Michael wrote the song.

Aw I love it. I remember seeing an episode with a guy who was supposedly crazy and who thought he was MJ (not sure if it was this one) and he sounded just like him. And I was younger and all I remember is telling my dad its really Michael we just couldn't see him, but my dad said it was an impersonator. Guess I was right. [;

I READ IN OTHER SITE, OR THIS.. I DON'T REMEMBER... :? THAT IN THE CREDITS THE CAN'T PUT MJ NAME BECAUSE OF SOMETHING ABOUT THE CONTRACT WITH SONY AND ALL THAT... BUT IS HIM!
AND A HOX IN THE SAME PLACE, AT THE SAME TIME...
THIS IS AN EPISODE FROM JULY? AND WAS FOR LISA... LIKE LMP... WHEN IS THE LMP BIRTHDAY? JUST A THOUGHT... :|
-
I don't think it was written for LMP, it was written specifically for Lisa Simpson. The episode came out in 1991. LMP's birthday is February 1st.
-
It was written specifically for that episode, as Michael was a big fan of the Simpsons. He did the speaking part for the character Leon Kompowsky and Kipp Lennon did the singing part during the episode. Michael was creditied as John Jay Smith in the closing credits, because of a contractual obligations.

True...and I also heard that Michael wanted to play a practical joke on his brothers and that's why he didn't sing. He was such a prankster!

Been my sig for a while
You should also look at the speed dial list on the asylum's phone ;) And also in original script Bart asks Michael (Leon) if Prince is there, but Michael asked they change it to Elvis (I'm not 100% on this one) :D
-
They were actually going to do a follow up episode with the Leon character and instead of Michael voicing him, it was going to be Prince. Can't remember why it never happened though
-
So Michael sang it for the Simpsons? not for Lisa Presley? I thought it was for Lisa Presley ;)
-
yeah, it sounds like it was written specifically for The Simpsons, and maybe just dedicated to LMP.

Michael did the voice of the character "Michael" in the episode but the singing was done by someone else as he didnt sign to sing on it  ...honestly. lol... i think his name appeared on the credits as John Smith. (:

i remember watching this episode!! and i'm sorry guys its was about me LISA!! haha
i got butterflies seriously!! hahahahahaha.. :)

I was wondering when did they tape this episode. I noticed the newspaper on the table, then it dawned on me that they couldn't have made this episode this year, right?. But this episode has been showing in YT and others related to Michael.
I have a question. I don't really follow Simpsons, but when was this episode shown? Did the newpaper with the HOAX in it was also shown then? Or is it just inserted now for YT viewers

This is the first episode from Season 3 and first aired in the US - September 19, 1991. The hoax newspaper is in the original episode and is not a new insert.
