Film / News DUMBO to Film Shoots: "Go Back to Tribeca!"

Brooklyn neighborhoods are reaching their saturation points: as Williamsburg seeks a moratorium on new liquor licenses, DUMBO wants to ban film shoots. With newly built condo towers, as well as chunks of Washington, Water and Front streets constantly closed for water main repair, parking is already a challenge, residents allege, without film productions taking up precious spots, too.
As someone who shows up for work in DUMBO most days, I can attest the neighborhood does seem to have an inordinate number of film shoots, even just judging from the ubiquitous laminated, multi-colored fliers that adorn the neighborhood's street poles. "In the past two weeks, at least six film and television productions—cop dramas, art flicks and even a Louis Vuitton commercial—have lensed the screen using DUMBO’s gritty industrial backdrop and sweeping city views," the Brooklyn Paper reports.
DUMBO NYC explains how else such shoots affect the neighborhood:
Sometimes there are shootout scenes involving fake gunfire and explosions, or fake chalk lines and fake blood from a crime scene in last week’s filming of Prime Suspect. People don’t seem to mind as long as they know that these are fake scenes (we know from the many email tips we receive reporting what they believe are real ‘incidents’.)
Yes! Years ago, I saw a man sitting up against a fire hydrant in front of Bridge Fresh who looked like he was dead...until I got close enough to see it was a dummy, and that they were filming an episode of Rescue Me.
Also, DUMBO residents pay, on average, a billion dollars a month to rent their apartments, so they probably figure they at least deserve to park their car and walk into Peas and Pickles without having to dodge the stars of Gossip Girl.

In the pre-dawn hours, elephants shared the road with early attendees for the Jackson "circus" at Staples Center, but they weren't headed to the venue to be part of the memorial. As part of a years-old tradition the night before the Ringling Brothers/Barnum and Bailey Circus opens, the elephants are transported on the typically-silent city streets to the venue. The actual Circus opens tomorrow at Staples. But, oh--what timing!

If a person, is going to court for the murder of the biggest celebrity Michael Jackson, first of all I wouldn't show my face any where publically, would be terrified if any fans will do something to me, secondly I would be worried that I would be going to jail. How can you have fun, just knowing that you may be in jail for 4 yrs? Losing your Medical License( he does not even have one) losing everything. TMZ let us think the "doctor" is going 2 disneyland alone. This makes us think "what / why is he doing that??"
They don´t say he was there with his child. To see the real pix makes it no more crazy for me that he goes there for a ride on "dumbo".

Yeah I don't understand that either. It looks like they intentionally get him in bad just to increase the hatred from the non-believers side. While I think they do it for money and ratings I still find it unbelievable. I mean, come-on you have allegedly killed the King Of Pop and instead of being in jail you are freaking going on the rides. How does it look in the world's eyes?

This article is another one that shows Murray represents Michael in this case. Murray is Michael metaphorically. He even like to have fun at Disneyland just like Michael. Remember the old articles about him? You know...I do wonder if Michael owns a portion of Disney. Not out in the open but owns a lot of shares or something. And the Disney company has a huge list of assets that it owns, including other movie companies and ABC, among so much more. There seem to be hoax clues in more and more movies which is really just crazy when you think about it. Disney owns Marvel Studios which puts out all the superhero-type movies. Michael said superhero movies would be big back in 2002 or something and was interested in Marvel shares when they were cheap then.
And maybe he owns part of Abercrombie and Fitch as modeled by Doc Murray. Maybe that's how Murray can afford his lawyers, LOL.
You never know, I just think it's possible with Michael.

Please let's make a comparison with DSK the FMI director ... The story which has happened at Sofitel in New York ... DSK did not kill anybody and he is not free like our dear doctor Murray who can do what he wants with all the freedom since 25th of June 2009 ... DSK was immediately in jail and now he has to stay in his rented appartment with an electronic bracelet and some people around him.
Let's say that Conrad Murray is quite lucky ... or there is a big difference in justice in USA isn't it ?

I can´t tell if TMZ wanted to imply anything with this article, however, the film Dumbo attacks issues such as xenophobia and prejudice, and the moral of the film is based on the premise that we must help the helpless. At the end of the day, Dumbo is an elephant with a deformity that is ridiculed by everyone but it is finally accepted by others and becomes the center of attention.
We all know the story of Dumbo, no point to speak of the movie argument. What it s clear is that as the way we do things, things will have one outcome or another.The applicability of this "lesson", imo, is that we can take some more away from the simple fact of having a physical defect and overcome it. In fact, every handicap we face throughout our lives we can consider them, in turn, as springboards toward the desired goal.
Problems have the importance we want to give them. We can turn a problem into the center of our life, or else expand the view and realize that a little further to the right or left, we have a reason why rejoice. We fail to appreciate or enjoy it due to an invasion of that little problem.
So yes, Murray goes Dumbo...he is facing a so called trial and may end up in jail but still he makes the best out of it.
There is also the possibility of someone near you to be there, watching you, looking out for you in order to lend a hand to you, and not even realize what we are being given.
This happened to Dumbo. He found help where least he was looking for. He trusted those who wanted to help him and gave him support and courage. Self pity was not an option. He turned his defect in to something valuable and he ate the world!!( Michael would fit here. Regardless his "big nose" i.e he has been the best entertainer ever)
The different characters of the movie are reflecting the society even now days and "the circus" (media circus?) we all are in.

interesting : all the thoughts about dumbo have me thinking in another direction. as monk would say about his gift . it's a blessing and a curse. michaels giftedness comes with it's eccentricities. maybe michaels curse (vitiligo ) came with a built in blessing also. ;)

I think by now, MJ is separating the ones that fall for such stuff from the ones of us that think for ourselves. It's the trick of the camera. MJ gets video of people walking in a crowd at Disneyland (no telling how old the video is - lol) and then superimposes Murray and fam's (lol) picture. It's the art of faking the breaking news that he is creating. Roaring with the thought.
I forget the technique used, but Murray/gf/child seen walking is not shot in realeo-dealeo time. They are placed within the footage. I may be wrong, but maybe some know what I'm trying to say. I put nothing past Michael by this point.

I think it's taken out of context tho. Murray was there with his gf and son,and he is on the Dumbo with his son, not alone like TMZ chose to show. You can see the child's hair besides Murray.

I totally agree with you! I have felt this from the beginning. That Murray is made up, this entire thing is made up, all these shots of him around town are made up. I am hoping the BAM will be the message of showing how we as a people can believe in something that is a total LIE! Completely and wholly made up. Not partially made up... ALL made up.
This I'm hoping would lead way to people reevaluating EVERYTHING they believe in... The history we've been taught from young, the things we are fed on TV, the world we are formed to think exists...

Yeah like the Murray at the beach pics. The same lady was there with him and she was with Blanket and them at Wonderland. Lol They probably weren't in Hawaii 11 months ago. Those shots were done at the same time most likely.
And like some of us pointed out on the old board, not one person got a picture or video of MJ at the 02 presser. How can that be? And only one TV station carried it in London. Sort of like that German station RTL that came out and claimed that they had done that re-enactment of MJ jumping out of a coroner's van. Why MJ then? They wouldn't have ever been heard of if not for someone else (before them) claiming that it was MJ at jumping out of van at coroners. I don't think it was some random person that shot the first video. I think it was all leaked by MJ and/or team.

Yes, it got to be! So, why is Murray acting with no worries? I mean, this is great for Murray, because prior to the trial he lives his life freely (as far we know/see), although he faces prison in case he's guilty. I've read that Michael spent some time in jail before trial in 2005. What a contradiction in justice!

Yes Paula, just compare the boy's height, legs and feet.
Bruno.nl says the boy is 2 years old now, being born some months before Michael's disappearance.
He should have grown by 3-5 inches in height and his feet should be larger by appr. 1.5 inches since 2010.
However, in the Dumbo pics (published in 2011) the boy appears to be equally small like in the pool pics (published in 2010).

This is the height of the boy compared to his mom - no difference IMO, just longer hairs thus only some weeks or months at most but not one year in between.

Which leads me to the question whether all of Murray was preproduced and is being published in some random (and / or intentional) sequence.

hmm in grace's first post both murray and the guy in the background have darker skin tones than in the second one. i guess it really could be from different times but murray looks much lighter in the second one and the other guy doesn't. course one could have had more sun exposure than the other and we don't know the sequence of the photos. :?

I've been reading somewhere that the trial will start only next year ? I have to find the link to this ...is it true, anyone heard of this ? Murray definitely has no worries , he didn't do anything to MJ, he is alive :)
