Heavy D (http://tmz.com/person/heavy-d/) was planning a huge comeback just before his death -- and those plans included a new music video.

Carl Thomas, who sang on Heavy D's latest album, tells TMZ, he was in touch with Heavy two weeks ago ... and Heavy told him he was weeks away from shooting a music video for their song, "Still Missing You." Thomas said Heavy had a director in place and had picked a location for the shoot.

Sources close to Heavy D tell us it was all part of the singer's comeback plan. We're told he released his new album on September 27 because it coincided with the BET Music Awards ... and he was hoping the performance would put him back on the map.

As we first reported, Heavy D passed away on Tuesday (http://www.tmz.com/2011/11/08/heavy-d-dead/)after collapsing outside his Beverly Hills home. He was 44.

Good morning everybody

Gina, as far as I understood, he died because of respiratory problems caused by a pneumonia.
Something like that.

Maybe he had a pulmonary embolism? I don´t know. I am not a doctor. But yes, I agree, it´s not fair at all.

Unfortunately pneumonia is still pretty dangerous. Sometimes it does not need to produce fever or other typical symptoms.
I actually had it last year, and got to know about it only thanks to my very suspicious and thorough doctor.

Heavy D was on the verge of a comeback, sounds very familiar. He collapsed at his home, was conscious and talking when ambulance arrives and died 90 minutes later at the hospital. To my knowledge pneumonia can be serious and cause death, but normally a person would be very ill and possibly hospitalized if its very severe.Im curious about what the autopsy will reveal. It was reported that he was having trouble breathing before he collapsed, but it seemed very sudden for the cause of death to be pneumonia.Cardiac Arrest seems more plausible, imo but i guess we will learn more in the coming weeks. This death is high on my suspicion radar,if u know what i mean.No disrespect to Heavy,he was an inspiration and he will be missed.

- looks like 1/2 of Hollywood celebrity population!  fresse/ I love reading autopsy reports..um,
I'm not pervert, just wanted to be a police investigator at some point, and recent celeb deaths
almost always have something to do with respiratory problems like pneumonia.

So Heavy D is really dead  pneumonia, eh? I start to doubt all these "pneumonias" in CA!
Why would he have it? Where do you get it in CA?
