Hi all, I have thought this ever since I read the autopsy report (even if it's fake we all knew MJ wore a lace front wig and his dermatologist said so as well. You can also see it for yourself on some close up pictures on mjjpictures.com as well as the tattoo on his hair line as well,) my thought was why was he wearing it to go to sleep? Why was he wearing it in the ambulance? I understand high end wigs fit tight to the head as a mold of the wearer and measurements are taken, but I can't immagine trying to sleep in one no matter how lite it is. Also, in the ambulance picture, it looks as if MJ is wearing fake eyelashes or tons of mascara. MJ had tattooed eyeliner but if you look at close up picture of him, his eyelashes are not that thick. Again, just a thought I was thinking that didn't sound right. I don't believe shyness as an excuse either because there are people who have seen him without it.

Yes, you are right. I wondered about his wig exactly in place in the ambulance photo. Surely he didn't wear it 24/7. Even if he was slightly embarrassed bless him he could have worn some sort of covering/scarf over his head. Also as you point out when you are in bed you do not have full make up on (unless someone special is there!) There are many things that suggest to us the ambulance photo cannot be the real thing.

and his chest is neatly covered as well...I think if they were doing cpr or looking for vitals they wouldn't care about covering his chest...this looks like some thought went into it, how MJ would want his fans to see him if he had to be in an ambulance. Also, I would think that if he was DOA that the Paramedics would have covered his body with a sheet to prevent the paparazzi from knowing who was under the sheet if he was in fact dead on arrival like some reports are saying.

Yes, I agree, this ambulance looks too "posed" to me. If someone had been adminestering CPR on him he would be dishevelled to say the least.

YESSSSSSSSS! You know I wondered the same thing! The first report we heard was the "peach fuzz" story,and I was like "how conveniant that he had a wig on". Then we heard the second story about the tattoo.... :roll: Ok I know he really hated to look at himself,but if he was not completely bald then why would he sleep in his wig.He does look pretty dang perfect in that photo. Interesting thoughts to ponder.

Can you remember, on old mjkit, the thread about the fake ambulance pic? That really it was from end of the 80s, I guess (sorry, I couldn´t find the thread).
So if the ambulance pic was photoshopped, they made it look like he wore his straight hair wig (back then, he had curly hair). So maybe that´s why he´s wearing one?!

He had to look good for his big debut lol! But seriously I dont think he would wear full make-up to sleep in as it can cause pimples and we all know how he had insecurities about those! And he had to of had base and powder on, his skin looked to well toned!

OMG! I just had an epiphany! I have been saying in the past in previous posts that fans were not used to MJ's new look in the movie and the conference and this is why they questioned a body double...I did a LOT of comparison on photos of him and research and I figured out part of the huge difference in looks is MJ had a lip shortening operation...Google it....this is where they make small lateral incision under the nose (the scar can be seen in some recent close up pictures) and take a slice of upper lip out to shorten the distance between the bottom of the nose and the top of the upper lip. In the ambulance picture, the width of his top lip is like the width of old...This has to be an old picture. I included a couple photos so you can see for yourself how the distance between the bottom of the nose and the top of the lip has decreased. Compare this recent shot with the width of space in the ambulance photo...

The wig issue has always bothered me too... as i do not believe he would wear full make up and a wig to sleep in.
Either its a hoax, or its photoshopped... or its a murder cover up. I have NEVER believed MJ took propofol to sleep. NEVER. It doesnt make sense as aenesthetic is not a restful sleep - you just lose time. Makes no sense whatsoever.
Makes my blood run cold but i have often run the theory through my mind, that IF MJ is really dead :cry: - then its a murder cover up. Who is to say that MJ didnt think he was being "put to sleep" by propofol in order to have some small cosmetic surgery done to him?? Its a horrid theory, but would explain the propofol use to me. Also.. it wasnt in the night it was at midday when this Propofol was supposed to have been administered.

I don't think from the larger photos of MJ that he is is wearing a wig it looks like his normal curls. I think i saw the wider shots on you tube.
So the photo at the ambulance is a total fake.

MJ wore a lace front wig as his dermatologist and pictures suggest (you can see the lace front on many close up pics on mjjpictures.com) because he had a form of alopecia caused by Lupus (an autoimmune disease) which caused his hair to thin and bald in places as well as two bald patches from the burn he acquired doing Pepsi commercial in the 80's...His doctor said they tried to remove the scar tissue a few times by stretching the skin with medical skin stretchers (saline filled baloons) and each time the scar was cut out and repaired, his immune system would flare and the bald patch would spread. It kept getting bigger despite trying to fix it. I'm sorry to say but even the beautiful curls as well as his straight styles are all lace front wigs. If you watch the making of Ghost and you see the part where they are putting the mask on MJ, there are a few shots of the back of his neck where he has a teeny tiny very thin pony tail at the back of his neck maybe about 1/2 inch long. That is his real hair. Very different from the full long head of curls where he is not in makeup in the movie.

LMP said Michael was wearing make up 24/7. She said she could see stains of powder oh Michael's pillow. Beside, she said he spent hours in his bathroom doing his make up and washing it away. I don't know the reason why and wether believe it or not, but that's what his wife said about the whole thing.

I remember reading a story about a friend of his (can't think of who atm) who said when they would show up unannounced they would have to wait an hour for Michael to get ready. Well if he always wore makeup and a wig, like in the ambulance pic, why on earth would it take him that long? And where did the stories of the paramedics not recognizing him because he looked like a bald old man come from? He obviously didn't if we're to believe the photos. Why does nothing make sense? :roll:

Also, LMP wanted MJ to cut his hair (which he did--or else he wore it like that). Another thing has come to mind. About his hair. If you watch the 02 conference, the wig is different than what he was wearing at the time. It is fuller and covers his face almost totally. could the reason for this have been because the 02 man was not MJ?

Lace front wigs take a lot of skill to apply they can be worn for long periods of time - you can even swim while wearing one. I experimented with a lace front wig about a year ago. The hair dresser glued the wig to my head (around the hairline) then used makeup to cover the lace around the hairline so it would blend with my skin tone. These wigs look fab when applied and maintained properly. To remove the wig a special solvent has to be used to disolve the glue. These wigs are designed for extended wear so im not suprised if Michael slept with his on.

well that would explain why it took paramedics an hr to get him out of the house he knew he would be photographed! ;)

He surely did after the Pepsi accident in 1984: he burnt his scalp badly, 3rd degree burns, which means no hair growing in burnt areas . So he had to. My sweetie .

Well, I certainly didn't and I think he's the most handsome man I've ever laid my eyes (unfortunately only my eyes :) ) on!! Who cares about a wig? I do not!!!

Well I remember a video ( MJ's private Home videos) where Liz is celebrating with Michael his first Christmas in - I think - 1993...she decorated the whole rooms with a lot music playing stuff etc...and the she woke up MIchael to come out and I can't remember if the video has been cutted, but I know, that Michael comes out with an pyjama ( his long hair) and I think with Make Up on and his black hat....So maybe he really worn them 24/7 or the video has been edited so it could really take an hour until he was ready

he first come out just holding his hat.. then a bit later he was dressed and had it on!! i dunno look at beyonce she always has a wig on.. she's really got a full on Afro!!

I also agree that the ambulance photo looks a little to perfect to me. I do agree that I would have thought that MJ would looked a bit more dishevelled since the EMTs were working on MJ to save his life. The photo still haunts me to this day.

I saw the part you are talking about but... it's not lil pony tail, it'a not his hair. It's the mask the make-up artist is putting on his head before he glued it to the head. I watched it a few times.
I'm sure his hair in TII are not a wig. It's his real hair.
I think he started wearing wigs only since around the Invicible era. I saw a pic of him during the HIStory era where he is kissing a lil girl on her forehead while she is on a bed and we can see where he had burning spots on his head. It's not that bad.
By the way, you don't loose hair with the lupus. What makes you loose hair, it's the medication. Even the medication doesn't make you bald. Maybe he has lost his baby hair but I don't think it makes him bald. We should not forget that he is 51...

I guess I have a lot more to learn about wigs, that is for certain. I never suspected MJ wore a wig. If anything, I surmised at most he sported a weave where he suffered the Pepsi burn but nothing more than that. To me his hairline looks natural. I have witnessed a few coworkers and friends who have chosen to wear wigs when they lost their hair to chemotherapy treatments for cancer and the wig always appeared too perfect (no bad hair day there)! It was just too apparent-even to a naive, untrained eye such as myself! I just don't see that in MJ and I have studied the front hairline where it is most noticeable to detect a wig. At any rate, I could be very wrong but it just doesn't sit well in my mind.

Just because you have Lupus,it does not necessarily mean that YOU will experience EVERY SINGLE SYMPTOM listed so its possible that he didnt experience the alopecia.
i am kind of theorizing here.it probably varies from person to person.he has the discoid type right?and i also think it would be quite odd for only mj to be balding from old age because from the looks of it his older siblings and even his parents have full heads of hair so genetic balding is kind of out.
I really doubt that he wore one in the 90s but the 2000s wouldn't surprise me.
according to jrt the burn bald spot was like the size of a quarter or something.I think you can see it in that one FBI license photo.i am having trouble finding it right now. :|
Anyways i honestly think that sometimes he wore wigs and others his real hair,maybe even extensions at certain times of his life.He can get his real hair relaxed and straightened.Simple as that and it doesnt necessarily have to happen everyday.The guy has a team for this kind of stuff.idk yes many times its obvious(really, really) he is wearing a lace front wig.i was shocked read john travolta wears

sorry MJ, MJ's Dr said himself that MJ was balding from Lupus. Here is what is said about hair loss with Lupus.
According to Daniel J Wallace, M.D. in The Lupus Book, "there are many reasons why lupus may lead to hair loss. First of all, active disease is associated with the plugging of hair follicles, which results in clumps of hair simply falling out after being combed or washed (called "lupus hair"). Patients with discoid lupus can experience mild, generalized hair loss, bald spots (alopecia areata), or even total baldness -— in the temples and on top of the head. Also, infections, chemotherapy, emotional stress, and hormonal imbalances are associated with hair loss. All told, about 30 percent of patients with SLE and DLE report significant hair loss."
His Dr. also stated that the scars continued to cause the bald patches from trying to cut the scar tissue out, it would aggravating the lupus condition causing MORE hair loss. Around Dangerous era you can see that MJ has his natural hairline with extensions and or a weave in the back... as for making of ghost... Take a look at his scull cap (the rubber used to cover his hair), there are NO BUMPS AND LUMPS OF HAIR. now take a look at the scull cap in THRILLER. You can see waves and bumps and dents of hair... In the martin bashir documentary you can see that MJ kept his hair shaved under his wig because you can see the front part of his shaved hairline...This is probably the reason why you cant see lumps and bumps in Ghost.

here is another good picture of MJ wearing a lace front wig...if you use your pointer and click on the photo it will magnify it and you can see the 1/4 inch of mesh around the hairline...this is the "lace" of the lace front wig...the hairs are attached to this to give the wig a natural looking hairline...

That was cute, but even funnier...they are ribbons...they are two ribbons holding two pigtails...maybe he was doing it to humor Paris? :lol: Even funnier is Prince punching his Daddy in the bottom and Paris going after him to do the same at the end...LOL!

there is another video of Christmas on youtube where he has the same nose...there is a close up shot and it is a beige colored splint that he is wearing...it looks kinda like a splint someone would wear if they broke their nose. It Kind of extends past the tip making his nose look longer.

I dont think so, I don't think he would show it...it looks more like just a problem with the photo copy. He bought the rights to the actual pepsi commercial so no one would ever see what happened and after he "died" it got leaked. You can see it on youtube...I felt so horrible for him. He said in Moonwalker he didn't feel anything burning until after he had already gone into his choreographed spins! From what I understand, he was very shy of it.

I don't understand what you are trying to say? Everyone knows MJ wears a wig and that most of his hair is gone underneath. Many of his loyal fans know this, that is why they are loyal, they know it and still love him...I don't understand what you are trying to say. I love his wigs! Especially the feathered one he wore...This is my MOST FAVORITE hairstyle and my most favorite look...LOVE THE JACKET

My point is.. Someone wrote why did he wear a wig when he was going to the ambulance, and wore wig a whole day until the "autopsy".. Michael wore wigs I know, but doesn't make sense that he had one when he slept, then collapsed, and still had it on when he came to the hospital.

Honoustly I dont think he wear wigs back than. During the Bad era you can clearly see its his own (sexy :) )curly natural hair.
I have the same black curly hair as he had during the Bad/Dangerous/HIStoy era so I know how to spot fake curls :lol: and those were not fake curls. You can clearly see his own hairtexture and hairline.
The hairdue of the O2 announcement was obviously a wig but I dont think he wear them alot.

i thought he only burned a part on the back of his head :( :?: i saw it in a video(wel pause and play look and you could really see it) so you really need a wig for your whole head?? sorry im not very known with this subject and the wy i typed it it looks a little starnge but dont know how to say it otherwise :roll: sorry :oops:
I was wondering the same thing too. Maybe he wore the wigs because it offered more versatile styling? Just look at Beyonce she's always snapped wearing a wig. I've never seen her natural hair! I can imagine Michaels scalp was quite sensitive due to vitiligo and lupus so it’s a possibility he was unable to relax or perm his hair due to the harshness of the chemicals used in these processes so, maybe wigs were the only option. I have afro hair myself and tried relaxing my hair once but, my sensitive scalp could not tolerate chemicals.
EDIT - Just had a crazy thought....in addition to the above ,the wigs may have been worn to prevent unscrupulous characters plucking at his natural hair, in order to obtain a DNA sample, to prove the paternity of his children??

anyway if this is the case then he should have curls in the ambulance picture!! BUT I'M SURE IT LOOKS STRAIGHT!!
therefore with the whole wig thing.. does this mean if it was straight that he went home and changed his hairstyle before everything with Murray!! :shock:

He had to look good for his big debut lol! But seriously I dont think he would wear full make-up to sleep in as it can cause pimples and we all know how he had insecurities about those! And he had to of had base and powder on, his skin looked to well toned!
Yes! I recall seeing a picture of him leaving Arnie Klein's office once with a mask on at night, and you could see his bare skin. You could see blood vessels and veins. Much different than the way his skin looked in the ambulance shot. It looked like his imperfections were taken care of :P
