Title: when did mj start preparing for concerts?
Post by: steffmaster1 on December 28, 2009, 06:29:55 AM
i think we were told march or apirl? i looked up recently about timings for concert preparations, the time artists take and forund janet jacksons rock witchu tour took 6 months  to prepare for and we can see how much more there would have been at michaels so theres no way that was enough time for them to happen now i believe he is preparing for them now and has been since 2006 since we saw smooth criminal rehearsals from then the movie was planned but so were the concerts but for when he returns remember hes a perfectionist  ;)

I agree that he started around 2005, because MJ is a perfectionist. He always said it takes time for the dancers to get his steps. But they want us to believe all this started in March. Randy Phillips stated in an interview that he has been working with MJ for 8 months. There's no way they could hold auditions within a few weeks. It would take months. Did anyone know of these auditions? I felt this was very strange.

Now don't get me wrong but I KNOW he started in 2005 ...
makes you think again of that INTERVIEW of 2005 doesn't it?... (the famous one were he says he wants to be a director etc with the smile and twinkeling eyes) that one :)

Oh and I know this, because of someone I know who knew MJ...(long story) let's keep the short version : This person I know works at an sort of music/film making agency (don't know the exact words for it) but he said MJ's people called HIS agency in 2005...to talk about THIS IS IT :)... actually...they even met in 2001, to talk about a "comeback tour" ..but that conversation never took further place...until 2005 :)...

but what gets me is that if he did start in 2005, Why rehearse for 4 years for an awesome comeback and not deliver?

As much as it pains me to say it, maybe he really did have medical issues. :(  :?

Will Michael Tour Next Year?
Sunday, October 26th 2008

Reports are appearing that Michael has spoken to a fan on his recent shopping trip, and said that he will not be taking up a residency at a Las Vegas Casino, but that he plans a thirty date world tour next year.

Michael added that he wanted to do it for his children, to show them what he does, and take them on the road with him.

Please be aware that there is no official confirmation of a tour at this time but obviously if this changes we will have the information on our web site.

The singer was buzzing with enthusiasm during a rehearsal in Los Angeles for his This Is It concerts.

Mr Mazur, who knew Jackson for two decades and had unwittingly captured some of his final moments, described how the singer shouted: “This is me. The true me. I feel so alive. I feel as though I want to perform forever.” The 48-year-old said Jackson was elated at the prospect of performing again and had bounded onto the rehearsal stage at LA’s Staple Center yelling “Come on - let's make this happen!”

The exuberant rehearsal came only hours before the singer's death.

A report in the Daily Mirror said the singer performed a spin before proclaiming: “This is where I belong.” Turning to Mr Mazur, he said: “Can you feel it Kevin? Why oh why have I left it so long?”

Mr Mazur said the singer told him: “We need a bit more work on a few more songs but we're so nearly there. This is what it's all about. Me being on stage. The only thing missing is my fans, my people, my family - and they will come.

“I know they will. I am so happy with how things are going.”

Mr Mazur said the rehearsal included 12 songs, after which Jackson blew a kiss into the near-empty auditorium, announcing: “This is me. The true me. I feel so alive. I feel as though I want to perform forever.”

The newspaper said Jackson appeared to enjoy performing his 1984 hit Thriller. “It was incredible," Mr Mazur said. “You could tell Michael was so excited.”

He was like an expectant father pacing up and down the stage. He was just so focused. Between songs, he burst into laughter and joked around with his dancers and the director. I have never seen him so happy.

"But there was a cool professionalism about him. He was there to do a job and boy, did he do it well. It was incredible."

I remember hearing a Kenny Ortega interview and he said that Michael called him in March before the press conference and asked him to produce the show. In April, after Michael returned from London, they got together and started the audition process for the dancers and started working on the ideas for the stage production.

Now if the first show was originally scheduled to be July 8, 2009, this doesn't seem like very long to put the whole thing together.  JMO

Very interesting.  I agree that TII was in the works longer than we have been told in the media!  I agree that MJ is a total perfectionist! ;)
