my mum thinks something's not right especially with the family when we watched the memorial live.. she couldn't get over PRINCE chewing and how bored he was..cos he was the oldest he should have more understanding..

but she just gets emotional whenever she see's films, interviews etc of him cos she can see how he was peter pan.. she's exactly the same.. i'm 29 and when i was younger all my friends wanted my mum as theirs cos she used to join in the games with us.. and have fun with us all..

and then when she see's tributes an stuff it sways her back to him being DE*D for about half an hour..

I'm one of the old ones too.  I can hear the Motown (where I grew up) sound in a lot of Michael's phrasing and in his pronunciation--a mixture of southern black, urban and Midwestern twang--I love it.  I grew up with Michael, literally.

Well this is good.  I thought I was the oldest one here.  And very true, no matter what age, we are all here for the same reason.  Someone is alive.....

My Mum is 63 and they put the Michael Jackson 30th anniversary concert on TV here and we watched it together.  My mum made a comment when he was performing "Billie Jean".. she said "oh look at his legs there.  They are definitely meatier.  He was so thin at the end."

Made me smile.. then i told my mum off for checking out MJs legs.     At her age!

I might be young but my body isn't. I feel like I should be 40 yrs old!! I guess all the falls I've taken ,injuries I have and having lyme disease makes me feel a lot older. I often wonder what I'll feel like when I'm 40+, I don't think I want to know though.   .

I guess you're feeling kinda young here now, mumof3.

Michael was my first boyfriend.  He was 10 and I was 13.  It was love at first sight and I swooned while he sang "I Want You Back."  My 90 year old mom, rest her sole, loved Michael too.  She loved the moonwalk and when we would watch some of his concert videos, she would say, "I like his get up (outfits)."

I guess that's the thing about Michael.  Young, old, black, white, straight, gay, women, men.....he is cross generational, gender, nationality, race, sexual preference.  I guess that is why he is the King.

Michael...I Want You Back!!!!

I definitely grew up with MJ, i'm going to be 51 in May. I thought he was such a cutie, and I hope this doesn't offend anyone but I remember that back then, white girls were NOT allowed to think black boys were cute, at least where I was from. I grew up in Decatur IL, very conservative middle of the midwest!   At least that's one thing that has changed for good in this country!

Hi, I'm 52.  I grew up with Michael too.  I went to see the Jackson 5 in concert in Baltimore, MD when he was just 10 years old.  I was 12. My sister got the tickets and my whole family went.

My daughter is 17.  She has never been interested in Michael Jackson but she has recently started reading the site and now is starting to believe it could be a hoax.

Ok so i am not the youngest i guess  ;) i'm turning 19 on january 17. My mom is not an MJ fan and she sometimes hates it that i love him so much... But i still talk to her about the hoax and she sorta believes in it. But she thinks Michael is not a good person cause he faked his death. I actually have no one to share my feelings regarding the hoax or even regarding Michael.   :(

Yes I feel young now. I remember michael was on tv when I was young  and the cartoons they did.  It was all part of our growing up wasn't it being out with friends when started playing I felt like crying.  He is such abig part of our lives and growing up. It was a competion between of osmonds and the jacksons no contest realy and when michael had is accident with the fire I thought it was just a singe no way did I think it was that bad so we have all grown up together that's nice.

I'm so sorry, love. I can relate. My family used to look at me like I was a nutcase for loving some weirdo. But the more I told them about him, the more respect they had for him. A few family members might not ever see the light. But you can't win em' all I guess. My mom used to literally use Michael's name in vain. I love her to death but the things she said about Michael were very hateful and cruel at times. I wrote about it in the old forum.

She said she just couldn't get away from him. I'd talk about him/listen to his music EVERY day and it drove her crazy I guess. I felt bad but I felt even worse not expressing my true love for him. And then she blamed me for her hate towards him. She said it was my fault she hated him so much because I would not stop saying his name around her. Lol. WOW! But it's all good now. She saw TII against her will when my little brother wanted to see it for his birthday present. She came home saying it was good and, "He's very talented." She still thought he was a child molester though. I showed her the 'Untold Story Of Neverland' videos and a few really sweet tribute videos and she came to the conclusion that he IS INNOCENT. I had so much joy and relief in my heart. I will always defend Michael...with LOVE of course. I make a point not to be disrespectful in any way when trying to convince someone of how "normal" yet "special" Michael is. What good will yelling at them do, ya know?

I am blessed to have two people very dear to me that won't throw stones every time I express my love for Michael. They love Michael too. I've only told one of them about the hoax though. And she's on board. Actually, she makes it a point to tell everyone that I think he's alive. Then she expects me to PROVE it to them. I'm like...."uuuuhhh" I seriously forget all of my knowledge in a nanosecond. I told her to stop putting me on the spot like that because people look at me like I''m crazy. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Hehe.  :?   Yep. Those looks. Lol. Oh well. We know the truth will surface soon.

And you guys...I am so happy to have met you. I love communicating with all of you. I learn and have so much fun at the same time. Thanks for everything. <3  ;)

So farhatmjj, it's okay. You have us. But I will pray someone comes along who you can share your thoughts and feelings about Michael with. <3

Actually it was very interesting.  At that time most of the fans were not caucasion.  We were the only "white people" in the audience.  I think because of that, the Jacksons kept looking our way.

Hi  friends.I am  not good with computer, sorry. I am 58, old enough, but I am obsessed with Michael like a   young girl.  Sorry for my English, I am from UKRAINE and Russian  is my native . It is my first post here .From that shocking day  the 25th of July 2009 I  have my heart bleeding and  I had to find somebody to talk to.I never believed Michael died, there was something strange about his death.I searched internet and found MJHD  with AMY  as admin. and began to read it.Then it crashed and again appeared, then SOUZA and MO started this forum and I am now just addicted to it.My granddouhgter is 14,she was not aware of Michael, maybe just of one or two of his songs, but now she admires him and is sure he's alive. So I ask you to admit me to your community to share my thoughts and feelings with you.

Hi I'm from Melb Aust and I am 50 but dont look or act like it..
I remember when I had my birthday party  in June    1 week before it happened . My friends and I were talking about Micheal how great he was and how we never beliveed all the BS about the allegations.. We couldn't wait to see him in concert and hoped he was going to tour here...
I have loved the Jacksons & MJ since I was 10,  I so devistated when it happened that morning when I was getting ready to go to work when I got to work I said did you here the devistating news I could not belive they didn't care I though whats wrong  with these people... I guess not everyone likes MJ..

I have my 10yr niece follwing the hoax as well... Everyone else thinks I am mad and delusional.. I hope we can prove them all wrong...

I am 48 years old and grew up listening to J5 and MJ's music.  As an adult I started listening to a different style of music and didn't follow him closely after that.  Even so, through the years I loved hearing and seeing MJ on TV and my heart lept for joy when I heard in 2005 of his acquittal.  I could tell you exactly where I was when I heard it on the radio....even though I had never bought a CD, never saw him live, never met him in person, never logged on to one of his fan websites etc.  I just felt a connection, like he was a vital part of my childhood. I am a strong person and have dealt with death in my family but when he "died" I was devastated. I cried a lot. I felt like I had abandoned him. I couldn't understand what was happening to my psyche but I was enraged at how he was unfairly treated in his life and felt I needed to step up and start speaking out on his behalf.  That's when I began buying his music, researching the truth about him, logging onto any website about Michael, taped the Memorial as well as many hours of other media coverage before and after the memorial, went to TII three times, etc., and began speaking out when articles slander his good name.  But, I started realizing that my grief was deeper than those close to Michael and questioned "why would that be if he was as great as they say he was?".  I started to see that stories didn't line up (i.e., some close friends said he was healthy, some said no. Some said he didn't do drugs, some say yes, etc).  I was confounded by the family's reaction and realized that I didn't believe the ambulance picture either. I'm in the medical field and was surprised by the hospital's management of Michael.  Because of confidentiality laws, they should never have given MJ's status to anyone other than MJ's mother (but they supposedly did)  So, what's up?  I don't know what's up but I say all of this to tell you that I was pleasantly surprised when my son told me that my grandson (who is 1 1/2) loves to dance to MJ when they play him on MTV. So, in all of this I've learned that my own family loves Michael Jackson's music, not just me.  My sister went to TII with me - I didn't know she liked him either.  So, it's been a great adventure to say the least.  Michael has drawn a whole new generation of fans to him and back to him, which is wonderful. I sure hope he's alive because I've learned all over again to really appreciate who he is and what he is about and I'd love the chance to thank him.

I'm 43 and I was a big fan back in the 70's/80's. But unfortunately I fell into the media's "sheeple" trap in the 90's & concluded that he was mentally unstable.  During the trial I believed he was guilty.

Shame on ME.

After his "death", I learned about the REAL Michael Jackson, along with discovering his newer music.  He is a creative genius, and a kind humanitarian & father .  I'm not saying he was perfect; he had a difficult life and difficult family...but he certainly didn't deserve the kind of treatment he received from the media.

It's really DISGUSTING how people spend so much time invading stars' private lives...then rip them limb from limb mercilessly...then shake their heads and go "tsk" "tsk" when the person crashes & burns.

Anyway, my 11 and 13 year old listen to him now.  His music paved the way for so many pop styles and trends.  And it never gets old.   :)

PS- I think it's awesome that so many people of all different ages all around the world can come together like this, support each other, stand together against those who think we're nuts, and really try to heed Mike's message both personally and globally.

Age is a state of mind and 50 is a symbolic #. I'm 32 and look 19 but people that know me say that I speak like I'm 45 'what's up' with that. 77 was a good year.

How lucky you are  what was it like I bet you have happy memories of that day

Actually it was very interesting.  At that time most of the fans were not caucasion.  We were the only "white people" in the audience.  I think because of that, the Jacksons kept looking our way.

Thanks for sharing your story I love hearing about them. I find it very beautiful actually just proves (even though we already know it) how groundbreaking the Jacksons were and especially our sweet sweet Michael. I've loved Michael as long as I can remember and will keep loving him forever.

At least that's one thing that has changed for good in this country!
haha that wouldnt /stop me they could stick me behind bars if they wanted to id proudly get up on a public bus or something and shout I'M A WHITE GIRL WHO THINKS MICHAEL JACKSON A BLACK MAN IS HELLA SEXY, YUP THATS RIGHT PEOPLE, :)
Haha glad I'm not the only one!
Yeah I'm not supposed to like black guys either but...who can resist Michael?

Well mumof3 I'm 40! Glad to see others here of all ages! I was not a huge fan growing up, but did like some of his music. When the child rape accusations started, I was very skeptical because I know the media lies and manipulates and exaggerates stuff. I was one of the ones that didn't exactly thing OJ was guilty, but I wasn't sure! I'm white and was raised around whites, but ended up marrying a black man who I have two girls with! Very cute by the way! Unfortunately, I had to divorce him because he was alchoholic! Now I have a wonderful white husband, except he thinks MJ was a child molester and thinks he is dead now! Don't know why I put this here, but I did! Late night for me, better go now! CHEERS!

I'm as old as some of your mums, but I'm as 'young at heart' as Michael and also have PPS (Peter Pan Syndrome)  Mike has been a part of my life since I was a young teenager. I've been blessed to have been with him from the start. I recently got an MJ (logo) tattoo because he's just another part of me. He's my true L.O.V.E.

Hey everyone I am 55 years old and just joined today.  I have been an MJ fan my whole life. Like a lot of others I literally grew up with Michael.  I don't look my age or feel my age and like Michael I refuse to get old.  Age is just a number.  I too think its great how all ages can come together on this forum and be united in one belief.

Must be amazing to have experienced that, you are lucky indeed. I wish I could have been around too, I believe I might have been born in the wrong time  :D My b-friend is going bonkers over my, what I call, "time depression". I always complain about living in these times where all magic is disappering  :( I even came up with a theory about being reincarnated backwards, e.g. being reborn in the 80's but he just shook his head, lol! Yeah, I guess I'm a bit of a looney
