I believe they asked this question just to see how many ppl bought into the lie on June 25th. Only ppl that think outside of the box could see all of the inconsistenties in his supposed death. I just wonder what other major newspaper will follow suit? Keep the Faith!

It is very strange that a large newspaper like The Chicago Tribune would do a poll on that question.  I don't know, but I think something is going to happen soon.  I think they're preparing the world mentally for MJ's return.  I think it would be too shocking for him to just return out of the blue.  Whats strange is that just a few hours ago, I sat in front of his childhood house in Gary Indiana and looked over at the school down the street from the house and thinking about how much he is missed.  Then I get onto this site and read about the Chicago Tribune's poll......  I believe its gonna be sooner than we think!

Or is it a stupid idea?

It is very weird that a media would just come up with this kind of questions just like that. I can't wait anymoreeee!!  :D

Oh My. I'm really shocked too that such a large paper would ask that?
I haven't seen any jackson SOURCES express outrage at their question/ poll neither.
No responses at all in regards to his apparent HOAX DEATH, no denials, NO NADA.
SILENCE IS GOLDEN.

As noted when I first saw the poll, the source peaked my curiosity since the Chicago Tribune is a well-respected mainstream publication.

My curiosity got the best of me so I contacted the Chicago Tribune newspaper’s editorial department. The editorial department of their publication would be the department  to  create and release such a poll. They did not. The poll did not stem from the newspaper or their website.

Long story short: the site is part of a larger consortium of many media outlets including radio stations under the Tribune media umbrella.  Many times radio stations will post news under the banner of one of their media partners as a disguise especially when they are pulling pranks.  Bottom line: viewers and voters of the poll were punk’d.  The editorial person was very polite and apologized for the false poll.

I suppose that this is just another reminder that it is open season on MJ fans. Keep your guard up.

The link doesn't work anymore.....
IMO, I think the Chicago Tribune put up this poll to boost sales maybe, to interest readers?
You can't vote anymore now...... or maybe I'm doing something wrong.. , but i clicked on the link a couple of times and each and every time i did get on their site, but not on the poll and then I browsed through their archives, searched.....nothing?? hmm, hmm. Then again, It might be just me.
Has anybody else tried recently (as in the last 10 min)?
oops, just read your post GirlSaturday.. no wonder (am I glad it's not me... )

Thanks! I am like all of my fellow hoax believers...nosy and suspcious.

It's unfortunate that the link disappeared. Per the editorial staff member, if it had still been up then she could have traced it back to the source. Too bad indeed. It is good news for the poll's originator. That prankster (suspected radio station) would have been bombarded with ugly emails from MJ fans from all over the world.

Well, I'm disappointed that the poll was not put in place by the Chicago Tribune, but unless the prankster altered the percentage figure, it still means something that 83% of people polled believe MJ is alive, right?  I still feel good about it.

I guess that makes sense.  But, come on, they don't know what is on their website?!!  Maybe they are just covering something up.  Maybe they put the poll out there to test the waters.  I am just suspicious at heart, I guess. :?

That's the weird part though. It was not on their site.  I think in earlier posts on this thread some members mentioned how they went straight to the Chicago Tribune site and saw no MJ poll. Smart thinking on their part to check that out first. We got a link that took us to the place that tricked us into believing that the Chicago Tribune was behind this.  Sadly somewhere there are jerks laughing at us. However they may not be laughing for long...one day ...the joke will be on them.

The above is a link from people asking the Chicago Tribune why they had that poll.  If you scroll down the page, someone from the Tribune answers that the poll originated from http://www.fox8.com (http://www.fox8.com).  A Tribune affiliate in Cleveland, Ohio.  I guess we need to ask THEM why they put the poll up.  It is not a radio station but a TV station.   :?:

If this poll is legit then there is so much people believing he's still alive !
And there weren't everyone ! I didn't have time to go !
I mean , why ? Did they have a poll like this for Elvis,Tupac too ? (they're rumoured to have hoaxed their lives too , Elvis I don't know,Tupac seems unlikely tough)
I mean why so much people doubt on Michael's death ? We're on the good track , definitly ! :D
