Oh my, someone brought it up! Someone pointed this out to me and Mo a few weeks ago and we searched a bit on this. What we think is that Johnny did some parts, but there are some parts where he doesn't look like Johnny, look at this picture:

Doesn't look like Depp, but it does look familiar.

Also Burton wanted Mike for Edward Scissorhands, but Johnny got the role back then. As TII has a lot of doubles, we even discussed if it might be possible that Johnny played a part in TII. He has been asked a while ago to play MJ in a movie. Johnny in TII and Mike in Alice in Wonderland? In our opinion highly possible.

And great video!

Very interesting idea! I agree that that photo doesn't really look like Johnny. Are you suggesting it's Michael though? I don't see it, but I suppose he'd have to be disguised very well if that were the case.

I saw the movie opening night and noticed quite a few things that reminded me of MJ. Thanks for pointing out more!

Not 100% sure cause I haven't seen the movie yet, but it doesn't look like Johnny to me. The facial structure matches MJ's, and the expression seems familiar, so I think it is definitely a possibility.

Very interesting video, I always thought there was a connection or similarity between MJ and JD they are both unique and mysterious. Too many coincidences involved since June.

I wanna see that movie!!! It looks a good movie and I always liked Alice in Wonderland.
I have to agree with Souza that the facial structure looks like MJ's.
And there seem to be alot of coincedences but it could also be that the producer liked MJ and was just giving him a little tribute through his movie!

No your not an idiot    I watched it twice  and I don't see any connection. I'm an old school Johnny Depp fan (all the way back to Nightmare on Elm St & 21 Jump Street). He was good looking in the 80's and still is now    It looked like Johnny in costume all the way through to me. Johnny has played alot of weird made-up characters.

I'm not sure what others think they are seeing, but most definitely to me it was Johnny, but that's just my opinion .

Wow - I have to see this film. Good posts - they must be having some fun with all of this - can you imagine Johnny in orange pants?
I have seen the interview with him & Tim and the one thing that stood out was that Tim wanted him to go through a description of all the hats & Johnny didn't understand but did it anyway.
Does that mean anything other than the obvious hat throwing etc?

Sorry just my opinion, I don't think Johnny was in TII. His face is wider than the faces in TII. I think it was def. Johnny in Alice in Wonderland & MJ in TII. Johnny puts himself into all of his characters, he's a very creative man. Perhaps he's the fan of MJ & the little twist he gave to the Mad Hatter was his own little tribute to MJ. & Maybe MJ was a big fan of Alice in Wonderland which is why he had paintings of himself as the Mad Hatter, he maybe even saw himself as the Mad Hatter at times. & maybe Tim Burton was a MJ fan. I really do think that's definitely Johnny's face in the movie though, as it is wider than Michael's a little bit, he was just wearing makeup & they probably tweeked him a little bit to give him a different look like he belongs in that fairytale world. The dance in Alice in Wonderland though, sooo MJ & the hat throwing  :o But Johnny all the way, I'm a huge fan, I've studied that face for years.  LOL

To add onto what I said before about maybe Johnny being a fan of MJ. I wonder if MJ was a fan of Johnny's? I'm sure he watched his movies. Maybe they even knew each other? Johnny takes roles in movies that MJ would like: Neverland, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice in Wonderland, etc. & Johnny has always said he puts a bit of himself into all of his characters, in Alice & Wonderland his dances very similar to MJ & throws his hat like MJ. They may have been fans of each other or knew each other & respected each other's work.

In Pirates, Johnny reminds me of Freddie Mercury, the same gestures ... Besides, I think Johnny's ability to transform ... I almost never admit in his films ... So there for me this is not really a clue. There are coincidences, but that's all. From my point of view.

Sorry if it's bad english, i've made this with google it's maybe a bad idea!

I don't think Michael is in Alice in Wonderland and Johnny in TII. No, that is something that I don't believe, it's a little far fetched. But that is just my opinion. :)

This is an EXCELLENT VID! I am not really harping on the fact of whether or not MJ was in Alice in Wonderland or Johnny was in TII? I believe that the video brought out a lot for us to examine as far as how the movie connected to MJ. That dam white rabbit is all over the place lol!! I mean the poster, the rabbit, as far as the pic of MJ dressed up I am going with the idea that MJ more than likley respected Tim Burton's work, hell, Tim and Johnny are probably MJ fans? COOL! This is great and kinda gives me a new perspective on things.

But you know what REALLLLY stood out for me?
MARCH 5, 2010 and MARCH 5, 2009? That could be a coincidence but ummmmmm I sorta don't think so.
FUrthermore, I will say that I believe Criss Angel is far more connected in this somehow, someway deeper than maybe we are discovering. ;) I kinda believe we need to research Criss Angel a bit more something still tugs at me regarding this gentlement ALso......how cool is that! Tim wanted MJ for Edward Scissorhands? COOL!

I think MJ would have been perfect for the role! :)

no we should definately not believe this is michael i do not see any resemblence im just not getting any feeling it could be him,way to risky for the hoax..we cant just get caught on one thing like this cuz that could only spread more possiblities later in this movie,or something popping up regarding the hoax..we think this and then down the road u see a pic or something reminds u of this and then we believe that HAS to be connected and its seems pretty realistic that that would be even too complex for a michael hoax, not saying this pic here itself but anything we think could be "connected"as i was saying
