My Dad was rushed into the hospital over the weekend by ambulance and was admitted with what was thought to be a severe chrone's attack,which he suffers from that disease and it was worst that ever attack wise as he could not stop vomiting and he wasn't eating but could not hold down a sip of water so his stomach was empty but when he would vomit which was almost every 5 minutes...excuse the gross info...it was like coffee coming up and by the time he got to the hospital,he was throwing up blood clots.
It has been hard here because my dad has had a manageable bowel
condition called chrohn's for almost 15 years but up until this
weekend,we believed it was another bad attack or perhaps even another
problem such as gallbladder or something due to the pain he was in but
they diagnosed after a day of testing that his small bowel is shutting down and dying and therefore the small bowel cannot be removed like the upper bowel can for most patients so that means all they can do now is keep him comfortable but if the pain can be manageable and he can keep some light solids and liquids down today once they remove the tube that was inserted through his nose into his stomach that collected his stomach contents because he couldn't stop vomiting and it was really inflamming his stomach,etc so they used that to take the pressure off his stomach and bowel to also add some relief for him,he may be able to come home in a few days so I am hoping once it is removed,he can keep a light diet and liquids down and also that the pain will be manageable so he can come home!
I know once he comes home he isn't out of the woods because they told
my mom he technically is dying with the small bowel dying but knowing
Dad,he would rather be home that in that hospital!
Please pray for him because there may be a breakthough or something and I have always believed in the power of prayer!
I also got an update after my operations and biopsies and the cancer is indeed in the bowel,colon and liver and I am not responding to treatments.
My oncologist is baffled as to why but I have been hospitalised alot due to complications from the treatments and also due to an allergetic reaction to some new pain meds and a kidney med they wanted to try due to my right kidney being badly burned from radiation years ago and I run into trouble from time to time.
I had a minor procedure on Monday which was a spinal tap and Thank God I was put under for it because they didn't for my first.
My blood has been out of whack for 6 consecutive testings so they are testing for leukemia because I have symptoms such as blood testing problems and I bruise very easily so I won't know the results until this Friday or sooner.
I now really understand the old saying when it rains,it pours!
I just want to say how blessed I am though to have family and friends that are so supportive,say prayers for me and for their love.
I can't thank you all enough for your messages and comments and I count my blessings everyday.

I am so very sorry to hear about your father and your illnesses. Most definitely my thoughts and prayers are with you today and here out. I've also been thinking about you over the past few days but haven't had much time to write. May God who is rich in mercy and grace heal you and your father through Jesus Christ our Lord. This is the 1st I've heard of this, I am at lost for words but my heart goes out to you. Please have faith and do not give up, I know this could be easier said than done but please do keep the faith. I will definetly be thinking of you sweetheart, hang in there.
The human's mind is the most powerfull tool human's possess, do not underestimate it, be very positive and vision yours and your fathers bodies healing. ;)

My nephew was diagnosed with Crohn's disease just about a year ago. He goes in for testing next week to be sure things are healing. Luckily he has had it under control for a year. But it's frightening how there are so many possible complications with this disease.

Kim, I am so sorry to hear about your dad, and also about your condition as well. Keep believing in prayer because it really is very powerful, and God can heal all things, if we have the faith, and believe. I will pray for you tonight, I want you to know that God loves you very much. You must believe that he does, even though we do not always understand why pain and sickness happens to us or ones we love, he is always there to comfort us.

My dad was released from this hospital today and they were reluctant to release him but he wanted to go home so God is allowing us to have him on borrowed time because there is no time frame for how long he has.
On a good note though,he has as appetite,his colour is much better and was bitching about the hospital food,how he couldn't shave,etc so when Dad starts bitching,you know he is feeling better! :D
I don't care though and will cherish each day bitching or not and will spend more one on one time with him because we have a secret nickname for my mom which is motormouth :lol:
This is because my Dad is the strong,silent type and whenever I ask Dad something or we all go out together,she always answers for him,makes decisions for him and you get the picture!!! :lol:
I am very close to my mom,dont get me wrong because she is like my best friend but it can be annoying especially when I am on the phone and she thinks nothing of coming in my room motoring about something or another and my best friend who is like a sister to me calls her motormouth too!! :lol:
Onto a more serious note,other than getting my Dad home,I have had a day from hell!!
I got my results back from my spinal tap and other testings I had done on Monday and it is confirmed I do have leukemia.
I go back to a specialist on April 12th to find out my options because I have no idea how leukemia is treated but I will do plenty of research though because I intend to find out everything I can,find the best course of action/treatment and kick it's ass!!!!!
Then I get home and find my sweet fat cat,whom I have posted photos of his "who me" look, has chewed my laptops powercord and it is totally dead so I will have to wait for my new one to arrive from the seller I just ordered it from on eBay.Thank God for eBay...at times though it can be dangerous!!! ;) :?
So that is my update as promised and I am off to research and also check out the board to see if there is anything new that I missed today.
