Title: The Sun once again proves to be tabloid trash
Post by: ~Souza~ on May 10, 2010, 03:39:01 PM
On May 6th we received an email from Jenna Sloan, who introduced herself as "a feature writer at The Sun newspaper in London". She told us she was researching an article into the different theories concerning whether Michael Jackson is still alive, and asked us if we were willing to cooperate. Since The Sun has the world wide reputation of being "Tabloid Trash" we wrote her that we were willing to cooperate, but on certain conditions. We remembered what the reporter of the Italian magazine Panorama did, so as a warning we included the link to the piece we wrote about Panorama on our website in the email we sent Jenna Sloan.

We decided to cooperate because:

The Sun is read by a huge audience, and has a daily circulation of 3.5 million newspapers, so the hoax would get world wide attention.
In case The Sun would screw up and Jenna Sloan would not live up to her promises, we could prove The Sun is indeed Tabloid Trash.

Read the complete email correspondence we had with Jenna Sloan: http://www.michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com/thesun.php (http://www.michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com/thesun.php)

Unbelievable, so if I understand this right they twisted the story again like always and used almost nothing of what you and Mo wrote. Especially the stuff about Mind Control and Manipulations and how Michael was being manipulated and ridiculed by the media. They didn't use that but ofcourse not, we are not suppose to know. But thank god we do!

but did you really expect them to write what you sent them...... it seems they just picked Dave and just went with that....

well he owns most of the worlds media so there is no way that he would ever print it... and wekk i was gonna say look at the comments... all 8 of them, fair play to the one trying to add to the story.... just sad that others are just outright dismissing it

Amazing.  Now we can see first hand what Michael had to deal with with every sentence he uttered, every move he made. Twist it until it fits into the sensationalism cubbyhole.  Once accomplished, let the presses roll.  Bashit, you wear it well!   How do they get away with calling this journalism?  Michael, again I salute you - you said a moutful when first you called it Tabloid JUNK.

well, souza and mo: do your magic! send the article to another newspaper comparing what you send them and what the sun made of it. bastards!

hope this wasn't a mistake. i can't believe all they ever wrote was the dave thing, didn't even go to the bare facts, the ambulance backing out, the pic being a fake...and then oxman allegedly sayin' 'that's just a form of grief' when he was the one debunking the pic himself...but then, what did i expect anyway?

Ok - so just like we did with the Jason Pfeiffer ordeal we also need to do now. Let's voice our disappointment in the slanted, twisted and blatant change of tone they took the article from its original text to finished product. If there are a million hits a day on this site then that is a great army of people (even if there are some of us who log on several times a day). Let's stand up against these people that so willingly print these distasteful stories. Blessings.

Once again, you have proven beyond question just how right MICHAEL JACKSON was when he dubbed most media publications as tabloid trash.  Now we at the mjdeathhoaxforum can report by the millions, the self serving tactics used by reporters like yourself, when reporting "stories" paraded as fact.  You have been outed for the frauds that you are.  Thanks to our wonderful investigative team moderators and owners, Mo and Souza, you passed the test with flying colors!  You receive an A+ for the change to fit scenario!  You totally twisted and omitted important facts given to you.  And we've got PROOF!  We know who sits on the throne and who rules your hand.  We investigate. Remember?

Michael Jackson always reminded us not to believe everything that we read.  Now it has been proven to all of us, firsthand, that you people are out to sensationalize any and every story you touch.  Even when you have vowed, in writing for heaven's sake, not to do so, it seems you have to take a detour.  Perhpas you could sum it up to the devil made you do it.  that's, of course plausible, even if it is also quite sad.  At any rate, millions will read it and millions more will BELIEVE, not you but Michael.  You fell into your own trap.  Guilty as charged.

I am thrilled that people will be able to read  and see and ascertain just how you must have twisted every story you ever did on Michael Jackson.  You were like leeches, just waiting to suck all the blood and life out of his legacy.  I hope it paid your bills.  I hope you were able to sleep nights knowing what you did to a genuinely kind, compassionate man.  And I hope you think about his children when you put yours to bed at night.  How inhumane you are. You should be ashamed.  If not, you will be.

If you cannot handle the heat then the first response is usually to leave the kitchen. Hmmm...Jenna specifically asked for information about mind control and illuminati. Once she received it she backed away and dropped the subject from the other emails. It appears that once Jenna did a little research, she saw that the subject might be a bit too deep for her or the readers to explore any further. She fell back on the safe and easier pill to swallow known as MJ disguising himself as DD. That is more of a light-hearted human interest piece. It  would encourage the reader's curiosity and lead them to joyfully search around and  see if they can locate MJ hiding behind a disguise. On the other hand, the heavier storyline about mind control and illuminati would leave  her and  the readers shivering in bed  with their doors locked and the  lights on.

Yes, indeed, not worth reading this paper.
A journalist, who cannot be trusted. It was clear, what her intentions were, when she said, they couldn't send "a copy approval of the whole piece".
Michael ran into an open knife, by trusting Bashir in the beginning. The journalist here writes in a sweet voice, just to get a fully researched article, which in turn is changed completely.
They - as representatives of the ugly face of the mass-MEDIA - again show no respect to Michael as a human being, calling him Jacko, to get the readers' attention, who buy the paper.
They are not at all interested in informing the readers in the expected form. They write a completely different story, the way they like it.
Only sensationalism counts.
It is a good example of how some media representatives break promises, their words are empty bubbles.
The portrayed people are ridiculed.
Very good idea to expose their methods publicly.
One shouldn't expect anything else from them. We have learned from Michael, how unseriously the media can work. This paper and many others will probably never change, because they want to keep their 3,5 million +  readers, who buy this tabloid trash.
A lesson learned - again. Michael was right. It must have been a horror to endure all the lies.

Here's my little letter to Miss Jenna. Grrr...

I'm shocked and dismayed at the article I just read regarding Michael Jackson. I can't believe my eyes - tell me it isn't so! He's posing as a burn victim when he's supposed to be dead? OH MY GOD! I have to tell my friends...NOT.

Truth is - if you had done your research you'd know that it's believed that Michael posed ONE TIME on LKL.  He's not just walking around as Dave Dave on a daily basis. Dave Dave is a real human being and what you have just done is to bring more attention to a man that is trying to live a normal life. A man that witnessed firsthand the pain that tabloids like you caused in Michael's life. Now you are doing it to him. You did this by distorting the truth. Yes, distorting the truth. Read the facts before you get finger happy on the computer. Shame on you.

The sad truth is that your article is tasteless and disgusting. Why, do you ask? Because like so many other tasteless and disgusting media outlets you embellish the truth, if not totally twist it, to create the drama you are seeking in order to draw in the readers.

If you had taken the time to read up on the facts that are the basis for believing Michael is alive, you'd see that there is just as much, or more, evidence to support Michael being alive as he is dead. If you'd taken the time to do your research properly you would have left out the attorney's comment at the end because you would have known that a huge amount of people that believe Michael is alive were not avid fans before June 25, 2009 nor are they the type of people to follow sensationalism. These are people who witnessed strange events on June 25, 2009 and the days that followed and couldn't turn their back on the truth that was staring them in the face. No, not the reports that the media was splashing all over the news. The events, time lines, and even words from those close to Michael that did not add up to a death on June 25th.

The truth is, those who were not fans before June 25th have become fans since and it has nothing to do with the media portraying Michael in the manner he deserves, because they don't.

It's because of tabloids like you that people are no longer duped into believing your ridiculous stories and following after every word as though it came from God.

Let me tell you a secret. Truth sells. Try writing a little truth and see how much bigger your audience grows and how much more respect you will gain. Try learning who Michael Jackson really is instead of what the media portrays him to be. They are two totally different people. Thank you.

And i'm ESPECIALLY angry that other so-called "news" services have picked the sun's article up and ran with it, like you say souza " snowball journalism".
This is just like how the story of MJ's "death" was spread.
Also, the same way Jeff Goldblum was reported "to have died" on the news the same day before FACTS had been checked.
Really, we shouldn't expect anything less from them, which is really SAD.

I don't want to stick up for the "journalist" from the sun, but what if she really submitted one story and it got edited as something else?

If she did she is welcome to respond to someone's email with that information. I don't believe she will. Maybe a good will come from this as people will view the information out of curiosity and learn the whole truth and nothing but the truth instead of the distorted truth.

I literally punched the screen, and my mind clocked out when I saw the word
"Jacko".
But it made me laugh out loud.
This is so disgusting it's funny. Maybe it's just my sense of humor.

I need to say that I work as a freelance writer and all the information that I collect does not end up in an article.  The writer has a specific topic that he or she writes about and they collect as much information as they can. Even within one topic, everything cannot be covered.  Often, edits are made at the last minute to keep an article at a certain word count.  It may not even be done by the author, but the editor.

They also have to decide what is going to sell-remember it's a business. The story about Dave Dave moves people and it does show MJ in a very wonderful light.  He was touched by this horrific story and befriended this boy who was betrayed by his father.

I don't read The Sun or any other tabloids so I don't know much about them specifically, but I am just giving you a writer's perspective.

guys, just to let you know i have emailed ninemsn which is a "news" site in Australia to complain about their posting and version of this story.

"Please feel free to check into stories before posting on your website as "fact" instead of ripping headlines from untrustworthy sources.
Although your track record isn't exactly great, is it?
Remember Richard Wilkin's announcement on the morning of MJ's "death" that actor Jeff Goldblum had tragically been killed in NZ???
Hmmmmmm......
If you would care to check this story further, please visit the website http://michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com/ (http://michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com/) and see the original article as it was emailed to the "journalist" at The Sun and compare to the article that actually transpired.
This kind of snowball journalism has gone on for long enough and will no longer be tolerated by the general public."

Hopefully i wont be the only one, maybe the message will get through to someone.......

I can understand your point but the truth can't be ignored that this writer totally distorted the information that was given to her. She was even given the word count that was needed so it shouldn't have had to be reduced much, if any. Yes, there was a smidgen of positive but it will be overshadowed by the joke that the Sun made this story out to be. It reminds me of Kurt Warner, retired NFL quarterback. He is very religious and makes sure in every interview to thank God in a place in the interview where it cannot be edited out because he knows they will do it if given the opportunity. He doesn't give them that opportunity. Neither should these writers. They can create stories in such a way that even when edited it will be portrayed in the proper light. I appreciate that there are writers like yourself that understand what Michael is all about. L.O.V.E.

Omg! 1st of all hats off to mo, soauza and the Dear friends on here who gave them a piece of their mind! I'll be next as soon as I finish typing this up :)
you know guys I was thinking- since we all belive in truth and spreading it, maybe there is something we can do afterall. I am amazed to see the reactions of all the readers that read this article. So my idea based on this is as follows:
we are the ones who believe in investigatingthe truth and only the truth. There's no one to stop us from doing that. And we are all from different parts ofthe world, can we alL create our own magazine/ newspaper? We'll help each other out and Cover each others back.  This forum can be our round table, our editing room and we will only publish what we investigate whatever the topic may be. Many people have and will always call us crazy but I can bet you our truths and investigations will make them atleast think about it. We arethe believers coz we believe in mankind and unity and the truth. We can call it 'the trrooot will always prevail' or something lol but seriously.
What say ??

I as a writer have been writing one something and changed my angle when I found something more interesting. It's the same topic, different aspect. It is well known that articles and interviews are edited.  I don't know what her word count is, but maybe that changed.

We also need to remember as hoaxers we are not mainstream and we will be mocked. Remember, we are very much in the minority compared to the rest of the population. Just because we as hoaxers are surrounded by other hoaxers doesn't mean that everyone else out there is just going to accept our ideas.

Did you read the complete email correspondence we had with Jenna Sloan?  If so, you would have read that she has quite a few questions in her first email, which we all answered.  On the 6th, she emailed us the following:

"It would be great for you to write a piece, but we'd only need around 500 words-I'd hate for you to write something lengthy and it be cut down drastically.
I can't give you copy approval of the whole piece I'm afraid-we never send out our work to anybody before it's published due to copyright restrictions in place here. However, I'll treat your piece as approved copy and I gurantee your words will not be twisted or changed
.".

Then, on the 10th, she emailed this:

"Just putting my piece together and I'm not clear on something so wanted to double check with you. Do you and Mo believe that Micheal Jackson is in hiding somewhere and appearing as Dave Dave sporadically, or do you believe he's living day to day life as Dave Dave?".

Now where is the 500 words piece we wrote and sent to her, which she would treat as approved copy?  Where's all the other information she asked us for?  Instead she only focused on Dave Dave, and left out all the other information she asked for and with which we provided her.  We made an agreement in writing, which she broke, just to publish a sensationalized story of which we clearly warned her up front we would not accept.

She clearly requested for our cooperation and information under false pretenses.  She let us believe that her intentions were sincere, and she wrote to us that "this needs to be a balanced article".  Well, I'm still waiting for her "balanced article".

Michael Jackson: It's Time For Outlets to Take Responsibility in Covering the Rock Star

Last week Michael Jackson's guitarist discredited widely reported allegations about the star's behaviour on the road. So why is the media refusing to publish her comments? British writer Charles Thomson explores media bias against black music's biggest star.

Aging glam-rocker Gene Simmons made international headlines last month when he claimed to know that Michael Jackson had molested children. In an interview with Classic Rock, Simmons alleged that Jackson was on tape ordering alcohol for children and that during the star's 2005 trial a travel agent had testified to importing Brazilian boys for Jackson's amusement. He also claimed that a musician friend had quit a Jackson tour after seeing 'boys coming out of the hotel rooms.'

What followed was a classic example of copy and paste journalism. Within hours the story had been duplicated by hundreds of blogs, forums and news websites from Australia to India to the USA. None of them had fact-checked the story before they re-hosted it. Jackson was never on tape ordering alcohol for children. There was never any testimony during his trial about young Brazilian boys. Both of these claims were easily disproven by trial transcripts.

As a relative Jackson expert, I was also unaware of any musician ever leaving one of the singer's tours midway through. So when I sat down a fortnight ago for an interview with Jackson's long serving tour guitarist Jennifer Batten, I ran the story by her.

She told me that no musician had ever quit a Jackson tour. Two musicians had been fired but both were let go before the show hit the road, so they couldn't possibly have witnessed anything going on inside hotels.

When Sawf News published Batten's rebuttal I observed an all too familiar phenomenon. Although the story appeared on Google News and was picked up fairly swiftly by the Examiner, nobody else seemed willing to touch it. Whilst Simmons's speculative and ultimately baseless accusations had been reproduced the world over, Batten's expert rebuttal was being suppressed.

I soon began receiving emails from Jackson's fans telling me that they were sending the story to every celebrity news outlet they could think of, including several of those which published Simmons's initial allegations.

But more than 48 hours later, typing an exact quote from Simmons's rant into a search engine produced almost 350 webpages. The number of news outlets hosting Batten's rebuttal? Three.

This was not the first time I'd had a Jackson story suppressed. After Evan Chandler's suicide in November 2009 I was contacted by the Sun and asked to supply information about the 1993 allegations. I spent quite some time compiling my research, advising the newspaper of common myths and how to avoid them, being careful to source all of my facts from legal documents and audio/visual evidence.

When I read the finished article I was stunned to find that all of my information had been discarded and replaced with the very myths I had advised them to avoid. I alerted staff to the inaccuracies but my emails were not replied. The same inaccuracies appeared in every single article I read about the suicide.

The same bias manifested itself the following month when Jackson's FBI file was released. Across more than 300 pages of information there was not one piece of incriminating evidence -- but that's not the way the media told it.

A videotape seized at customs in West Palm Beach and analysed for child pornography was repeatedly referred to as belonging to Jackson. In actuality, files stated merely that the tape was 'connected' to Jackson and that connection appeared simply to be that somebody had written his name on the sticky label.

In another document the FBI logged a telephone call from a tipster claiming that the bureau had investigated Jackson during the 1980s for molesting two Mexican boys. The files made no other mention of the supposed investigation and the claim was ascribed no validity -- the call was merely noted. But the media persistently referred to the anonymous tipster's unsupported allegations as the FBI's own conclusions.

Jackson's FBI file overwhelmingly supported his innocence but its contents were routinely manipulated to give the opposite impression.

Many are quick to scoff when Jackson's fans speak of a media conspiracy to destroy the star's reputation and I used to scoff with them. As a member of the industry I prefer not to think of it as sinister and conspiratorial, but I find it increasingly difficult to explain away the bias with which Jackson is treated.

I wonder whether the problem is pride. When the 1993 allegations broke, the vast majority of information available was released, either officially or unofficially, by the prosecution. Jackson, meanwhile, remained characteristically silent.

Perhaps because the prosecution's version of events went almost completely unchallenged (although I imagine that drama and selling newspapers had something to do with it, too), the media primarily chose to portray Jackson as guilty.

But as the facts started to trickle out it became increasingly apparent that the case was full of holes. The allegations had been instigated not by the boy but by his father, who had demanded a scriptwriting deal from Jackson before he went to the police. He was on tape plotting to destroy Jackson's career and dismissing his son's wellbeing as 'irrelevant'. Then the boy told cops that Jackson was circumcised, but a police body search concluded that he was not.

Although Jackson's innocence looked increasingly likely, most news outlets had made their bed and to this day they seem unwilling to do anything but lie in it.

Whatever the motivation, be it pride, profit or plain old racism, the bias against Jackson is undeniable. The suppression of Batten's comments proves once more than when it comes to Jackson the media is interested not in fact or reason but negativity and sensationalism. Batten accompanied Jackson on all three of his world tours and was known for a decade as his 'right hand woman'. But Simmons -- who self-confessedly did not know Jackson -- has been given over 100 times more media coverage for his inaccurate ranting than Batten has for her firsthand experience.

It is time for outlets to assume responsibility for their own content. Websites should not re-host other publishers' stories unless they can be completely certain that the content is factual. Even if the media refuses to print the truth about Jackson, they should compromise by not printing the lies either. At least that way he can rest in peace.

Thank you, Souza & Mo, for standing up and raising your voice.
Don't be sad that it did not work out the way you wanted. It was worth the effort.
At least they put the web address in so that interested folks may come here and check.
I feel very sorry for Dave to have been jerked into such a spotlight again.
Media do harm persons on purpose - this is the only truth I see from this article.

I think there are several cornerstones we are realizing from this outcome:
tabloids always follow a strategy and a purpose and there is no way they will leave their given path.
Stories are not decided by individuals but editorial staff meeting whose head is reporting to the publisher who is reporting to the financier. Those structures are existing since birth of the first print papers and again it is all about money. We as ordinary people will not crack those structures.

But we have a power that is still not fully understood by those gray haired media monuments:
we are not using their antiquated forms of information sharing. We are using viral networks, individual groups and messages spread by mouth and email, tweets, blogs and forums.
This is viral marketing of our ideas and messages and they will never ever get us hooked again on their controled information. We are lost consumers in their eyes and yes I like this.
The bunch is growing in numbers every day that has read enough crap, lies and falsifications.
The bunch using the web and their brains is growing.

Souza & Mo, this is your viral marketing. This is your guerrilla marketing.
If you like to cooperate with widely-read tabloids in order to reach the masses, I think the only way telling them what to print is by placing an ad and buying them out.

MJ did struggle with tabloids. If he could not turn them...
I think the best way of treating them is the ignore button and not buying them at all (or buying an ad if you want to use them for your purposes). The latter means howling with the wolves. It's a question.

Rupert Murdoch of News Corporation, knows how things go.
The publisher is ready to ban everything that is written against the interest of the Enlightenment - as he is ordered from higher masters - and  people who insists finds himself without a job.
Rupert Murdoch is a member of the Illuminati?.....
So the Illuminati spread the events that  they would have you believe through the media version.
These versions are highlighted in newspapers, magazines and news from around the world and communicate what becomes the "norm", the "official history".
But in the weeks and months following an event, researchers interested in the truth begin to dig deep.
Every time they demonstrate and document how the official story is actually a lie from beginning to end.
But who gives space to their investigations? Bulletins limited distribution, the books published at his own expense, the radio stations that have the financial resources and a much more limited than the empires of the Illuminati.
Therefore, even long after the official version has been demolished, it continues to prevail in public opinion.
If there are brave and true journalists, the technique might not work.
They, in fact,  investigate the official version of events and  demonstrate that it is unfounded.
At this point, would the results of their investigations to the public which does not react in any manner sought by the authorities.
But unfortunately, we have media that are little more than a public relations office of the Illuminati, and this makes the technique particularly useful for manipulators.

I am a reluctant Sun reader, mainly because I enjoy their sports coverage, and I saw this today. In fairness, I think The Sun have been fairly reasonable about it, in the past they have been even more critical about these sorts of theories. It is a very simple and at time hypocritical/sarcastic piece, but that type of feel runs through out the newspaper. Plus it's good that it has been publicised (I found this site because of the link on the article).

As mentioned above, Rupert Murdoch is a slug and a leach. His media dominates this country, and others, and his disregard for those who buy his 'product' is astonishing. Unfortunately, in a world of capitalism there is always going to be the occasional twit.

:(  unfortunately the sun is a business. they only care about selling papers and don't care about who they hurt or offend so long as there's money in their pockets.

True, XEmaxx, but what gets money for them? Attention = interest, which has to be created. How? With some new stuff! What kind of? Unusual. Whats unusual nowadays? Something exclusive (other media did not catch before). What might that be?

Well,have a guess ...   :-))

I just don't understand why you would trust a TABLOID to be anything other than what it is!?!?!?  Why would you do this?
I don't think this is good at all.  Michael doesn't deserve this.  Do you really think he would want this published in the SUN????  They did nothing but hurt him his whole life!  This is just unbelievable.  You are not considering Michael in all this, you are considering yourselves.

First off, I do appreciate the effort put in by the mods to publicise the forum......this site will definitely be getting many clicks and well....I'll be glad if other people come to believ us...whatever we are saying......

The thing about which I am disappointed beyond imagination is that this was sold to a tabloid.....A TABLOID....for whatever reasons, name, fame etc etc.....after all these months, how can you even come within five miles of these leeches? We all know what these guys do with original stories......

They (The Sun) just twistd the whole thing and churned out some long gibberish idiotspeak...they left out half the points...So the hoax didnt have theimpact it wa meant tothrough this endeavour....And most readers COULD ( I say could NOT will) discard taht as another Elvis thingie...What then?[attachment=0:2n7igqk1]012.jpg[/attachment:2n7igqk1]

Since most part of your post has already been answered in this thread of in other threads I will just quote this part:

The thing about which I am disappointed beyond imagination is that this was sold to a tabloid.....

Why do you state "that this was sold"?  What makes you think we got money for this?

I can assure you that we have never made a penny out of this website, this hoax and/or interviews.  In fact, this whole issue is only costing us money.

As far as I'm concerned I have never thought that Mo and Souza  seek or make money with this site, on the contrary have done very good research. Look at the title of thread, " The Sun once again proves to be tabloid trash"

After all this time its best to try and stay true to the teachings of Michael Jackson and not become too egotistic. MJ's #1 RULE is do not trust what you see or read in the tabloids. Be it paper tabloids or TV tabloids..........save any final judgement until you have spoken with the person directly. Now most of us cannot have a heart to heart with any celebrity the tabloids turn on but honestly what did you expect from THE SUN ?? .........I think the lesson learned here is more for MJ beLIEvers than it is for the "Anything, anything for money" tabloids. If it looks like a snake, slithers like a snake, its a snake. It may have been a fantasy on the interviewees part to have their quotes go worldwide in a large tabloid but you had to know the snake would not treat you 100%. To go to a tabloid with any sort of factual information on MJ's hoax was naive. We need no further proof the tabloids are what they are. Lordly, after all the crap they spread about MJ??? Honestly, THE SUN made a joke about DAVE DAVE, which is one of the foundation facts to the hoax.  I think we all now can get a tiny sense of the huge frustration MJ endured for decades from these vampires. Hopefully, the lesson has been learned and no more factual information will be shared with lesser publications. Especially , over as controversial  and unsupported a topic as  illuminati involvement.
ie: they set you up.

BTW: Here is a FUN FACT.........It was THE SUN that originated the cheeky nickname, "JACKO". We all know how Mr. Jackson felt about that title. To do business with them in any fashion was a mistake.
Title: Re: The Sun once again proves to be tabloid trash
Post by: GirlSaturday on May 13, 2010, 02:38:35 PM
Perhaps I have a different take on this topic.Whether it was the SUN, NYTimes, Time Magazine or CNN the results may have been the same. Tabloids are in a strange way...honest media. They tell readers upfront what their intentions are and their intentions are proven through sensationalized stories filled with half-truths. That's honesty. The so-called mainstream media may not slither like a snake but they wear sheep's clothing while revealing their wolf fangs underneath. They pretend to strictly follow the 5 Ws of journalistic integrity.

Journalists write for these publications and they answer to their bosses... the editors. Editors answer to publishers. News is supposed to be honest and objective but it hardly is. It can be quite subjective and selective depending on the viewpoint of the ones who are in charge of delivering the news. Are you familiar with the term media blackout? That is a prime example of how slanted views influence what is reported and to what degree. Plus good news has always been  bad for the news business. Good news does not sell magazines or newspapers nor does it increase tv viewership.

In my opinion it was the right move to approach the SUN along with each and every other media outlet willing to listen.  Did the SUN do MO & Souza a disservice? Yes and no. The reporter may have had her own agenda from the start. Souza and MO could have written solely about DD and the reporter may have reinvented their words anyway. However she did get a portion of their article right and just enough to draw curiosity from the paper's  2.5 million readers. I'm not suggesting that each SUN reader will visit this forum and take the time to dissect every blog or thread for hoax related facts. However more will likely do it  now that they are aware of the forum's existence than if the article had never been published. If just 10 people come along and take the time then that is 10 more than before. Sometimes you have to take the bitter with the sweet. A small  piece of something is often much better than 100% of nothing.

I fully understand that we are in the minority and going against the grain by believing in the hoax and that some minds will never be changed to believe in it. Instead of standing still and focusing on what didn't happen as a result of publishing the article , perhaps it is best to consider the possibilities of what may positive outcomes do happen as a result of it being published. Some things should just roll off of your back as you keep moving forward.

I will follow the advice MJ gave on this subject: "BURN ALL TABLOIDS". I doubt seriously if MJ rationalized  perhaps 10 more people saw his point when they read the trash this fish wrapper posted on him. No more excuses...........Let's all say we've learned the lesson MJ was taught and move on. DO NOT TRUST ANY MEDIA.

I cannot state one way or another what MJ would have approved of if 10 people came onboard and questioned the hoax. Again, I do not know MJ personally so I cannot read his mind. He seems to be a smart man who  keeps strangers away so that he can carry on with his business plans and also live his personal life.

I agree ...do not trust any media. However I must ask why are people surprised by the negative media reaction to the hoax. We cannot have it both ways.

your reasons for co-operating are stated as:

Quote
We decided to cooperate because:

The Sun is read by a huge audience, and has a daily circulation of 3.5 million newspapers, so the hoax would get world wide attention.
In case The Sun would screw up and Jenna Sloan would not live up to her promises, we could prove The Sun is indeed Tabloid Trash.

Nothing  mentioned about michael jackson - that you regarded it in his interest or that of dd
Nothing mentioned that you had weighed the consequences and the likely damage if it went pear shaped
Nothing mentioned about the fact the mike hated the tabloids and The Sun newspaper in particular
Nothing mentioned that you weighed fans reaction to you co-operating with a tabloid and especially this tabloid
Why would you need to prove that The Sun is Tabloid newspaper - everyone knows that already - you knew that before you courted this animal surely?

you said on another thread that we have freedom of expression on the existing threads about The Sun i hope that you allow me this freedom. Please view my comments in a constuctive way. thank you.

i have read the emails sent and i note that you hoped for more - and were disappointed by the outcome - i give you that. but in future i think the content of a press release would need to be worked on, you may need a copywriter in the future, and think about the main points, it was a bit weak. i only say this as i have had to write copy for my website, or adverts and press releases. there are some great books on the web. constructive comment

i have put my view forward - but i dont think i have got a response really. i suppose what i really want to know do they have any regrets for mike and dd

i think that is my real question in all of this and one i dont think i have voiced before.

it would go along way - if they had an ounce of regret for any damage done and acknowledged that and apologised.

this matters alot to me.

The Arabian Nights, I have my opinion about that...
First af all why are you talking about 'damages'?
Do you think that they damage DD or Mike image..?
I don't think so....
That journalist twisted their words of course, but AT LEAST she brought the hoax ALL OVER the world...
Everybody talked about it, and in my opinion is not SO bad.
I repeat, this is a public website, everybody could take any kind of informations... The Sun or News of World, etc...etc...

Im going to be polite about this arabian nights.

Everyone on our site has the right to agree or disagree with what happened with the sun, mo and souza have explained themselves and our members have expressed themselves, some agree and some dont. Thats all fine and dandy.

But now its getting to a point where I am getting pissed. IF you are so truly bothered about this that you cant let it go and want this circle jerk to keep going then politly leave our site.
Im not going to allow days and days worth of why YOU people feel that this article the sun wrote is such a bad idea as if this is the first hoax related thing they have ever printed.

MO and souza dont need to apologize to any of you, I will say this once again, if you dont like it here then leave.

If there was any damage done by this then they owe michael or his family an apology and not you arabian night and not mjlovebug or any other member, we are here to investigate the hoax that michael set fourth, its an adventure, good or bad. IF the family had any real issues with our or any other hoax site they would have contacted us by now and im sure we would comply.

Having you opinion and expressing it is one thing, circling and harping to attack mo and souza over it day after day aint gonna happen.

So i will say this once again, you can express yourself, but if it bothers you so much then leave, it was free to join and its free to leave.

To everyone else with a grip on reality, I hope you have a great day.

the arabian nights, you are really, and I mean really kind of pissing me off now. You have stated your opinion a hundred times now, it's DONE. If you keep repeating yourself, I am going to de-activate your account so you can cool down for a few days.

Try to see it from the other side: We think it was the right thing to do, you think it was not. That's fine by me, everyone can have their opinion and you made yours quite clear. Yet we are not bashing the people that say it was a bad decision, we only explain why we think i was a good one. You on the other hand think it's necessary to keep provoking, bashing and petronising us, while in fact we BOTH don't know if this will turn out for the good or the bad.

Your argument is that Mike hated the Sun and the tabloids, but you don't have to tell me that because I already knew that.

My argument is that this is a hoax and things are happening on purpose. Mike himself is using TMZ (a tabloid!!!  :o ) for 11 months already, who called him Jacko as well, so are you going to bash him as well because he is working with something he disgusts?
If we would have done anything in danger to Mike or Dave, I am sure we would have heard SOMETHING from SOMEONE after 3 days, yet everyone is silent.

So we both have good arguments and we are not going to agree on this one. Half of the board thinks it's a good thing, the other half thinks it's a bad thing. I am very sorry, but I can't please you all.

So stop the sarcasm and the provoking now and continue investigating the hoax.

Thank you very much.

Since you mentioned "i think it would mean a lot to me and to other members if the question was considered and responded to.",  I'll step in and comment. Your questions have been addressed and a response was presented. What exists now is that the response was not the one you wanted. Sometimes people have different  points of view. At best they simply agree to disagree, shake hands and move on from that  point.

Though the wacko handle makes my skin crawl,  /pull hair/ this is kind of cool.  I dont care for the tabloids, however, a lot of people live by what they read in them.  I consider most of them iluminati run, so perhaps the illum has taken notice of the possibility and is testing the waters so to speak.  I don’t know, but it seems odd that they are apparently questioning the possibility in a round about way.  Trying to get a reaction.  I say keep ‘em guessing Michael.  You’re running the show this time around. beerchug
