How weird monument indeed. O.o Those pictures look like they've been just slammed there. You know, they look really unattached in a way.
Hmmh. And E'cas and those trial pics. And there's even that picture where I think he looks the most sad. That one from the right side, third one from the bottom. I don't know, he just looks so sad...

Weird monument, I have to admit. Does anyone have the text that reads in the stone? I can only read the beginning and the end. It even says: "after suffering cardiac arrest". I sure wouldn't want something like that written in my monument. The cause of death, I mean.

The pictures are placed...oddly. Its hardly even a border, because they're uneven. Plus the advertising looks a bit cheap. It really does look like its rented, as Kirsche said. It almost looks like it ha a timeline, starting from the bottom right picture of him as a baby, then going up through Jackson 5 to Jacksons to Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad, but then it kinda skips straight to TII, then back to Bad, then the trial...I don't know. The whole thing is a little confusing. Then E'Casanova? I don't see why he would be there. I wanna know who decided what was going to be put on there. :?

EDIT**---Here's the stoneplans website. Seems a little...Ehh. I wonder how they came across this site.

The Monument is nothing to worry about, imo.
The trial was a nightmare for MJ and his fans, but they are great recent pictures of him, so I can see why they would use them.

But WTF?! E'Casanova?!     :|

That's just ridiculous.

the thing with this  monument is that its been unweild  twice now..
first time by Joe jackson  just days after mjs death
and the second time by katherine   the other day,,,

Quote
Gary Monument Will Be Unveiled Today..(10/7/2009)
A monument to Michael Jackson will be unveiled today in his hometown Gary (Indiana, USA).

It was produced in Richmond in just 48-hours. Senthil Muruganantham, CEO of Stone Plans in Richmond, was struck with an idea for a monument while watching Tuesday's television coverage of the memorial service in Los Angeles. He stayed up through the night designing a monument and then contacted Gary officials Wednesday. They loved it and he produced it.

"Obviously, it struck us that it would be such a tribute and honor to do a monument for Michael Jackson," he said.

It will be shipped to Gary today and unveiled during tonight's memorial service. Mayor Rudy Clay will officiate joined by Joe Jackson, the Revs. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, former Miss Indiana Kellee Patterson, singer Deniece Williams and actor Fred "The Hammer" Williamson.

On the front of the monument, Michael Jackson is in silhouette in a classic dance pose against the backdrop of a full moon. "Never can say good bye," the title of one of his hits, is emblazoned below. On the back, a collage of pictures of Jackson from the many stages of his career rings Michael's visage, created from lyrics from "Gone Too Soon", the song Michael wrote for Ryan White, the teenager who died of AIDS in 1990. Titles to several Jackson hits follow below.

"Who is not a fan of his music?" Muruganantham said. "I listened to his music growing up in India. Anybody who sees this can relate to Michael Jackson and his music."

Muruganantham's company is unique in that it could produce such a tribute in such a short period of time. His granite comes from a quarry his family owns in India. He had the 8-foot tall, 5-foot wide, 5,000-pound block in his 65,000-square-foot warehouse. He has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master's degree in architecture from Ohio State University.

"We did all the work in our house," said Dan Tate, a company manufacturers' representative. "'We're one of the few companies in the nation that could have done something like this. Usually it takes several months when you're dealing with second, third and fourth parties."

The polished black granite monument was designed on a computer and laser-etched over 24 hours.

"Obviously we are proud. It's amazing to be a part of Michael Jackson's legacy," he said. "But part of it was being there at the right place at the right time. Sometimes it's meant to happen and it does."

Company to donate stone monument to singer’s hometown of Gary, Ind.By Hannah C. Bealer, Staff Writer
Updated 5:28 PM Monday, July 13, 2009
A local monument company has a big role in a memorial service for Michael Jackson in Gary, Ind., this weekend.

Stone Plans, a maker of stone memorials and monuments, with offices at 2331 Gettysburg Ave. and in Richmond, Ind., is donating an 8-by-5-foot monument to the King of Pop’s hometown.

The $28,000, custom-etched monument will be unveiled during a memorial service there Friday, July 10.

Work on the 5,000-pound monument started this week, said Darren Boykin of Stone Plans. It got some finishing touches Thursday, July 9, and will be shipped to the city in northwest Indiana this morning.

The front of the monument shows Jackson in the center of a large moon performing his trademark moonwalk dance move. The top of the monument depicts Jackson’s masked face from the cover of his “Dangerous” album, with the words “King of Pop” inscribed underneath. Under the moon is etched the Jackson 5 song title “Never Can Say Goodbye.”

On the back, a biography of the entertainer is surrounded by photographs from his life. The lyrics for “Gone Too Soon” follow.

“The city (Gary) gave birth to the King of Pop,” Boykin said. “Not a local artist or a national artist, but an international superstar. I want them to be proud. I want them to look at the monument and say, ‘Wow. He was one of us.’”

The monument, which will be unveiled by Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson, and Gary Mayor Rudolph Clay, will be installed at Gary’s city hall.

The service is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the Steelyard Baseball Stadium. Admission is free.

Im sorry but your wrong, why do they have a picture of michael looking real sad? The trail were the worst days and months of michael life. its not all about michael looking good or whatever you're saying its all about using certain pictures that is appropriate
