Six (!) different "death" certificates??

Well, I have done my research on the death certificates and I wish I had done it 4 months ago! The information is astounding!! I have always heard that there were 3 copies of the death certificate, but that isn't correct - I have 6 different copies sitting in front me that I found on the net last night. The following are the bar codes on them: *172000041*, *17200004 *, *172000042*, *172000043*, *172000045*, and *109007157* with the amended death certificate attached with the number *109007159*.

I found some legal wording online about a California death certificate:

California Death certificates have been maintained by the California Department of Public Health, Office of Vital Records for individuals that died in the state of California since 1905.

By California state law, the following authorized individuals are the only ones who can obtain a death certificate:

Mother/Father (or Legal Guardian) of Person Named on the California Death Certificate
Husband/Wife of Person Named on the California Death Certificate
Domestic Partner of the Person Named on the California Death Certificate
Son/Daughter of Person Named on the California Death Certificate
Sister/Brother of Person Named on the California Death Certificate
Grandparent of Person Named on the California Death Certificate
Legal Representative of an Authorized Person of Person Named on the California Death Certificate
California Death Certificate for Genealogy Purpose

For anybody else who wants to get a copy you will get one which is called an informational copy. It contains the same information but it is stamped not valid on the front of the page. This is what we have that is on the net.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
More info I found:

Usually a death certificate is created within a few days of the death and the information found on the death certificate is given by a witness of the death. Due to the timeliness of the creation of the death certificate and the testimony of a directly involved witness, a death certificate is a very reliable source of information about the death. La Toya is listed as the informant on the certificate which means she is the one who gave the info that is on the certificate.

Now, what is wrong with this information? The person who was a witness to the death is Murray and he REFUSED to sign the certiicate. Also on the certificate place of residence is listed as Hayvenhurst, which we all know he did not live there. Another area in question is MIchael's middle name. On the certificate it states that it is Joseph, however on his passport it is Joe. There are many doucments that have both Joe and Joseph listed as the middle name but just remember this: for LEGAL purposes Michael Joseph Jackson is not the same as Michael Joe Jackson and the correct name has got be given!

Now there's 6 copies? WTH? Very strange... :?   I doubt if he really did die, there would be 6 different copies with different bar codes, right? Just another thing to add to the "weird" list!  :?

What's with all these 7s popping up? Strange.... :?

Also I would like to know .... are the death certificates signed? If so who signed them ? Also what color ink? I read somewhere that the DC is supposed to be signed in blue ink? Yep gonna need those images to compare
