"Lead vocals: Michael Durham Prince" EXPLAINED
January 03, 2011, 05:40:29 AM
For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding the fact that in the new MICHAEL album,  Michael Durham Prince in vocals a lot and MJ only appears in some.

Quote
For HOLLYWOOD TONIGHT, (I Like) THE WAY YOU LOVE ME, BEST OF JOY, and BREAKING NEWS Michaels name isnt even listed once, not even for background vocals!   And for Much to soon (the song supposedly recorded during the thriller era doesnt even have michael listed as lead or background vocals either.......

For "KEEP YOUR HEAD UP" and "MONSTER" Michaels name is only listed for Background Vocals

and the rest of the songs, ANOTHER DAY and BEHIND THE MASK, Michael is listed as the lead vocals.

Now the name that does come up for alot of the lead and backround vocals is Michael Durham Prince.
Now just who is Michael Durham Prince?
And Bradley Buxey is the copyright claimant for every single new song listed under Michael Jackson/Michael Jackson Estate.

THIS IS ACTUALLY REALLY STUPID

The credits don't say that the vocals were by MICHAEL DURHAM PRINCE. The credits say Vocals Recorded by Michael Durham Prince

This means that Michael Durham Prince was the one who RECORDED the vocals (he set up the microphone, pressed the record button etc;) Michael Jackson was the one who SANG the vocals, but the vocals were just being recorded by Michael Durham Prince.

All the songs on the MICHAEL album were sung by MJ himself, none of them were fake.

If you listen to the album, you would know it's all him singing, no matter what the credits say. As much as I think we did not see the real deal half of the TII movie, that much I am convinced it's all him on the album.

What I don't believe is that Much Too Soon was recorded in the Thriller era. It doesn't sound like young MJ. I think they mean that it was written in the Thriller era.

a comeback is far more greater when the odds are impossible

i feel Michael is singing every song on his Album, exept Breaking News this song feels very odd to me. Behind the Mask it's my favourit song i LOVE it, everytime i hear it, it's like Michael singing it for us , Maybe it's to far fetched but i think i'ts Michael asking us if we love the man we never new before, or The music icon Michael! (i know the song is for a girl but still i hope this is another layer of the song)
I'm still searching for the real Michael the man we don't Know,...... o.k. maybe a tiny little bit....

I have no doubts it's all Michael on the album. But the song Behind the Mask sounds more 80s to me than all of the rest, sounds like Bad era Michael singing it, almost with a Disco feel lol. But I am sure this is done with a purpose.

Yesterday on the oficial MJJCommunity forum one of the members said M.D. Prince was her dad.
She even posted a photo of her as a girl with MJ (he was holding her in his arms). All members jumped on her asking her to reveal some details, but she has been silent so far...

That is exactly what I said last week about this.  Recorded BY simply means that Michael Durham Prince was the person working the equipment while Michael Jackson sang.

However, you must all admit that the booklet and the credits are a mess...

I think it's all Michael, only he manipulated his voice on those 3 tracks. But sometimes I have second thoughts, because on Monster & Breaking News the way he says "Aow!" sounds the same on both tracks, but I've never heard Michael say it that way before these two songs.  :?

Yeah I was thinking about the aow today as I listened to the album for the 900th time today =P and I agree, it's kind of weird that we have never heard it like that before.  But then I thought to myself that I cannot be like all of the critics who hate the album because they fear change and want the Thriller and Bad albums again basically.  The way MJ sounds in this album is new and fresh. Totally him and I love it.  There is nothing wrong with a little change here and there.  The album is pure beauty.

Agree. I never had any doubts that it was all MJ singing in the album. Even when I first heard Breaking News. It's all Michael.

you've never head of the possibility of michael faking his death until the media reported it on June 25th.

Although I never believed Michael Durham sung lead vocals on any songs and I understood what the credit meant, I still question the vocals on that album. I can't wrap my head around the fact that all of those songs are him. It's just doesn't sound like him in some of the songs to me. Just like in TII, I don't think Michael looks the same at all in certain shots and scenes. Same trick, different mode IMO.

Awareness + Awakening = Higher Consciousness

LOL... we know that Michael Durham is not singing the songs and we can read ... I knew he only recorded MJ's vocals but it doesn't mean that every song is sung by Michael :/ I am sure Malachi is singing lead vocals on BN, KYHU, HT, Best of joy and Monster and it isn't a mystery.
