I live in Melbourne Australia and we are watching it all unfold........those poor people. We are also experiencing some strange weather phenomenon with our weather also. It has been one of the wettest summer ever!!What in hell is going on with this weather extremes we are experinecing??? This has to be a sign of irreversible global warming. I'm praying for the Queensland people. God Bless xoxoxo

I'm a Brisbane girl. We were not flooded thankfully. It has been chaos. Most supermarket shelves are empty. No produce available as the Rocklea markets are under water. Pauls milk factory is on the river at sth Brisbane, so milk is unavailable unless Norco ships it up from northern NSW. People have been panic buying everything from bottled water to long life milk. Today was a sunny day here. Seems like the first one in months. What is most worrying is they are forcasting a cyclone to hit in 3 weeks time around Australia Day. And we can't take any more rain. I was here during the 74 floods as well, although a youngster, I still recall the smell and I am aware of what it will take to clean that mud out of people's houses. Our family will be doing our bit to help where we can with the clean up. The only good thing to come out of this is a great sense of community and strangers and neigbours performing random acts of kindness. People will pick themselves back up and start with the rebuilding of their lives again. We are Australians, we may get knocked down, but we don't stay down.
