"My son
passed"
Isn't it "passed away" or "passed on" in the meaning of dying? As I can recall Katherine or the family didn't say Michael passed away or passed on. I heard them talking something like "his passing", this doesn't have to be meant as "death". Katherine says how it is, which is not dead: "my son passed" means my son moved on or my son is approved
or numerous other possibilities.
