I love how Rebbie is laughing after she has been saying how she is perfoming for a while now (all over!) and that this is one of her favourite things, to perform live.

look again, it comes from deep within and appears to be so liberating for her.
I guess it is not easy to live in this double bind situation, but it seems to be amusing for her nevertheless.

Rebbie is the only sibling who kept low profile. Everyone else they were blasted all over the news.
obviously she will have to say it is a living nightmare, she is aware of the hoax but she needs to lie, make believe her brother is dead.

Yes she has to coperate with the rest of the family. ;)

I don't believe Rebbie would lie.  She is a member of JW's and in good standing.  She would be severely counciled, or even disfellowshipped, and she and her husband have been in that for like 40 years.  I don't think she is lying.  BUT, I do think there is other explanations there that she is thinking she is appeasing the elders with.  (Michael tried to do this too with Thriller remember?)  I think that she is being evasive and playing with words.  She DID say that he died...but I wonder if we can explain that in another way than a lie...like, what words were they linked to?  She said her brother died...well, one did.  She really, really hesitated when ask about seeing the doctor as the one who killed her brother (my wording) and she smiled grimacinglly, and said yyeess and giggled.  Well, what happened with Brandon's death?  Maybe it was believed to be something a doctor could've prevented?  I know you all are much better than I am at this, but I know that Rebbie wouldn't lie for a hoax so there has to be another explanation.  Same with Katherine.  Neither would lie for a hoax even if life threatening, it would threaten their eternal life.  There are other explanations here that we are not seeing.

"Living Nightmare"....a couple of things come to my mind....

1) Thriller II

2) what some would describe Michael's life to have become from 1993 onward....
(with the exception of the birth of his children, of course)....just as in MJ's short film, "Ghosts", once the "Monster" (Michael) was descended upon by the outraged townspeople (the Media/the World), his "dream" became a "nightmare" that he endured for 16 years (1993-2009).....hmmm....16 years....1 + 6 = 7.....

I admire Rebbie....she is the Jackson who appears to be the most stable....the classic eldest child....the 3rd parent....I'm sure that, on one level, having to support this hoax goes against everything she believes in....but her loyalty to her family is paramount and completely admirable, in my book....she could no more abandon them than her own children....I feel for her....this has been her cross to bear.....she and all the Jackson's are in my daily prayers.

I truly feel the story of the Jackson Family at large has become almost Shakespearean! SERIOUSLY!

That statement about MJ having a problem with drug abuse could be taken like "I have a problem with people abusing animals." in other words I don't like it. Then throw in the part about interventions just to stay on track with the hoax.

I agree with you, if you are  Jehova witness lies are not permitted. Well lies are not permitted even if you are catholic or christian, it is in the 10 commandments THOU SHALL NOT LIE. But, and it's a big BUT, Katherine would do anything for her children, especially Michael. She will lie to protect her son. I am a mother and I would move heaven and earth to protect my son. Katherine is the same, they all know it is a hoax, they have no choice to go along with it.  Remember the slip up of Jermaine, Michael was long gone before going to the airport. What does the airport has to do with a death? So you see everyone knows the hoax.

Hmm i don't know if i would say Whoopi knows about the hoax and that's why she stayed silent. To me it appeared as though she didnt want to be apart of the "bandwagon of badger" that the other hosts had going about Mj's kids, estate, addiction, Murray, trial etc.
Oh another note, she looks fabulous!

So maybe this is all coming to a head???? Did you all notice Whoopie didnt ask a single MJ question. I have a feeling Whoopie knows  :D

I was thinking the exact same thing!  :o

I think she may know what's going on, or have her suspicions. After all she was very, very close to Michael. Well I assume she was... as she and her children spent nights at Michael's house.

She usually talks the most out of the group on any other day, so for her to be so quiet is really... rare.

They mentioned she was going out on the "Pick Up the Phone" tour. Just got back from one of these shows. Perhaps if Barbara and the gang had talked more about this tour and gave it at least a little promotion there would have been more than 30 people sitting in a 700 seat theater. That was kind of sad really. One thing I did find odd however was that this particular dates ticket sales were to benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness, yet she didn't mention NAMI not once during the show. Not sure how you raise awareness and such without actually talking about the issues.

She did sing quite a few MJ songs though like I'll Be There and Rock With You. At one point she was singing Shake Your Body to the Ground and had about 9 audience members on stage to dance for the "crowd". I made my friend and her son that was with me go up and dance. I hope someone took video because it was hilarious.

She also sang Fly Away and mentioned it was the last song she and her brother had worked on (I don't think she ever mentioned him by name). And I don't know about y'all but if my brother had passed I wouldn't be able to sing that song without bawling my head off, but she seemed fine.

Someone told me they were filming part of the show for Good Morning America but I'm not sure if that's true or not. If I'm up I'll try to watch GMA and see if they show it.

Anyway, had a good time. Just wish more people would have shown up.

*Oh yeah...and y'all will be glad to know that I refrained from screaming out "WHERE'S MJ!!!" lol
