Taipei hotel prepares home away from home for Janet Jackson
2011/02/14 14:39:35

Taipei, Feb. 14 (CNA) As Taiwan fans prepare to meet R&B diva Janet Jackson at her "Up Close and Personal" concert in Taipei City this weekend, the hotel at which she will be staying said Monday it is aiming to provide her with the high-class personal services suited to an international megastar of her caliber.

The Regent Taipei said it is preparing its 210 square-foot presidential suite for Jackson to serve as her home away home.

The suite is fitted with a state-of-the-art entertainment system and will be decorated with Jackson's favorite white roses, the hotel said. In addition, personalized bathrobes and slippers monogrammed with Jackson's initials will also be provided to make her feel at home in Taipei, it said.

The room is believed to hold special significance for Jackson, because it is where her late brother, the legendary King of Pop Michael Jackson, stayed when he came to Taiwan in 1993 and 1996.

The Regent's public relations director Beth Tsai said the hotel has compiled a photo album containing pictures of Michael Jackson's two visits to Taiwan and has prepared three video games based on the king of pop legend.

Moreover, the same hotel butler who served Michael Jackson will also be on duty to provide 24 personal services to Janet Jackson, Tsai said.

"We understand that Janet is on a light food diet so we will stock indigenous Taiwanese fruits such as wax apples, bananas, and guavas," she added.

The luxury suite, which has a sophisticated fusion of western and Chinese decor, has also hosted other superstars such as Mariah Carey and Michael Jordan.

It will be Janet Jackson's first visit to Taiwan and she is scheduled to meet with 20 Taiwanese fans after her concert Friday at the Nangang Exhibition Hall. (By Jenny W. Hsu) enditem /pc
