Lindsay Lohan is pretty fired up about using Michael Jackson's former bodyguard, Alberto Alvarez ... telling friends she's definitely IMPRESSED by the way he handled the King of Pop.

Sources close to the starlet tell us Alvarez and Lindsay have a mutual friend ... who contacted Lindsay after seeing the pap crush that surrounded her last week at New York's JFK Airport.

We're told LiLo's friend wanted to to make sure she was safe -- so he recommended Alvarez as a bodyguard to help the actress out when she travels ... because he racked up tons of experience fending off crowds during his time with MJ.

So far, we're told Lindsay thinks Alberto does his job "expertly" ... and plans to continue using him in high paparazzi situations. Oh and the best part ... so far he's doing the work pro bono.

It puzzles me... WHO on this world would work for free? maybe if he was her father or brother and he's not. Don't get this.

We're told LiLo's friend wanted to to make sure she was safe -- so he recommended Alvarez as a bodyguard to help the actress out when she travels -  a "he" reccomended her Alvarez. This intrigues me very much. First because he's working for her for free and I don't now if nowadays anyone would work for free for absolutelly no one. It's absurd

This is either bullshit or there's no way one would work for free. I mean seriously, either it's TMZ bullshit or it makes no sense. If Lindsay was his daughter or niece it would make sense, but a person like Alvarez who probably had a salary worth of being Michael Jackson's bodygurad, now to for for free?

I swear I can't believe this. And what common friend?

Also I can't believe Lindsey doesn't have money to afford a bodyguard and she has to have one pro bono. I don't take it as 100% truth. It might be very well a tabloid BS

I think Lindsey Lohan was in danger. They wanted to kill her (cuz she doesnt listen to them). And MJ knows that, so he sends his bodyguard to protect her.

Working for a celebrity has benefits whether you get paid or not. Maybe he wants fame? IDK...

you know, fame isn't everything. I don't think he would want fame no matter if he's not payed for his job. I can't believe that. Anyway, I don't think there's someone on this earth who would work for free (I don't talk about volunteers) no matter how famous is the person they work for. Alvarez might have had a huge salary during the time he was Michael's bodyguard as to accept now to work for free like nothing happened. As she would be his sister/daughter/kin, you know? Only if she were his kin I'd understand it but she's not. This is very strange.

We should try to find a link between Alvarez and Lindsay...what friend could possibly know both of these people and I suppose the person is famous, I don't think a non famous person would know both Lindsay and Alvarez...also does anyone know what other celebrities Alvarez was of been a bodyguard for or was it just MJ?

What if Álvarez works for the police offering security?. By that, tax payers pay for his work so no need to be paid by the person who needs protection.

I believe that if MJ needed protection because he feared for his life, the system would have offered it, as would happen with any other citizent. Famous or not, people need to be protected at times and the system would supply the right services.

Then why would they say he works for free? Working for free means no money that enters your pocket. Be it from tax payers or the one who fires you. If he was payed by the police, that would mean he IS payed by someone. But they say he works for free. This, if TMZ is not selling bullshit story again.
