Conrad Murray Trial
Read the Jury Questionnaire

44 minutes ago BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has obtained a copy of the jury questionnaire in Dr. Conrad Murray's manslaughter trial, and the lawyers and judge want to know just how obsessed potential jurors are over high-profile cases like Casey Anthony.

Among the 113 questions ...

-- Over the past several years, have you followed any publicized cases?   (e.g., OJ Simpson, Robert Blake, Phil Spector, Casey Anthony, etc).

-- Have you accessed or posted any blogs concerning Michael Jackson or Conrad Murray?

-- Agree or disagree .... Celebrities and high-profile people feel they are entitled to act however they please.

-- Agree or disagree .... Celebrities and high-profile people in Los Angeles get away with crimes because of their status.

-- Has your life or the life of anyone close to you ever been affected by the behavior of someone who had a drug (prescription or other) or alcohol addiction?

-- Did you ever watch "This Is It."

-- Have you ever considered yourself a fan of Michael Jackson or the Jackson family

-- Have you ever undergone a medical procedure that required an anesthetic?

-- Have you ever been prescribed medication by a friend who is a physician?

-- Has your physician ever refused to prescribe a medication that you specifically requested?

And the questionnaire lists potential witnesses to see if prospective jurors know any of them.  The witnesses include Janet Jackson, Jermaine, Joe, La Toya, Katherine, Paris, Prince, Blanket, Randy, Marlon, Tito and Rebbie.

  • I'm Watchin From -2012- Twilight Zone!:)
Not sure how many will be watching this trial live but I have over the last 2 days tuned into In Session. I do realize that media will be somewhat biased and right now the cameras aren't live inside the courtroom but there is very useful info coming from Murray's lawyer Ed. He has spoken on matters that are relevant concerning the jury. There is also a phone number for people to call in and give their opinion on whether or not Murray's trial will be difficult based on how Casey Anthony's jury found her not guilty and the aftermath that followed them from the public backlash.

So far the guy who is hosting In Session has not given very bad opinions, he seems to be playing fair.

In Session is also promoting a T.V. special coming up in regards to people's opinions of Who is the real Michael Jackson. There is a former body guard. There is also a family friend who checks Dimond. You know she had to put her evil spin on this.

It will be very interesting to watch this play out. I personally will keep watchin'.

Peace

Michael Jackson case: Judge blasts ‘bogus’ information about sealed jury questionnaire
March 24, 2011 |  9:38 am

[This post has been corrected. See note below for details.]

The judge presiding over the trial of Michael Jackson's personal physician blasted a website Thursday for posting what he described as "bogus" information about a questionnaire prospective jurors are filling out.

In an apparent reference to a TMZ.com article that purported to detail questions proposed by Dr. Conrad Murray's defense, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor said, "Not one of the questions from that questionnaire posted online is part of this court's questionnaire."

The judge had earlier ordered the questionnaire sealed until after the entire jury pool completed it and said he was worried that the TMZ story and a "tongue-in-cheek" questionnaire posted on a second website might affect the answers prospective panelists provide.

About 160 potential jurors were sworn in Thursday morning, marking the official start of Murray's trial. The cardiologist is accused of involuntary manslaughter for allegedly giving the pop star a fatal dose of the surgical anesthetic propofol. Murray's defense contends that Jackson administered the drug himself.

Testimony in the case is scheduled to get underway next month.

[For the record, 11:47 a.m.: A previous version of the post incorrectly implied that the questionnaire was sealed by the judge Thursday.]

Michael Jackson's physician fires publicist for leaking jury selection information
March 24, 2011 |  4:37 pm

On the first day of his trial, Michael Jackson’s personal physician fired his publicist for leaking jury selection information to a celebrity gossip website.

On Wednesday, TMZ.com had posted what purported to be proposed defense questions for potential jurors, a leak that Dr. Conrad Murray’s attorney acknowledged came from their own publicist. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor said the questions were “bogus” but that he was concerned about how information on the Internet would affect the answers potential jurors give during jury selection.

Murray is accused of involuntary manslaughter for giving Jackson a fatal dose of the surgical anesthetic propofol.

Defense attorneys told Pastor in chambers that a media company hired by the defense had leaked six questions the company had suggested for the jury pool. None of the questions ended up in the final questionnaire, which Pastor earlier ordered sealed.

“It is an embarrassment,” Ed Chernoff, Murray’s attorney, told the judge. Chernoff apologized and said the company would be fired.

After the hearing, Chernoff confirmed that the employee was Miranda Sevcik, a Houston publicist who began working for Murray and his legal team two days after Jackson’s death.

Sevcik declined to comment, beyond wishing the defense well.

On Thursday, 159 potential jurors were sworn in and screened for financial hardship. Jury selection is expected to continue Friday. Testimony in the case is scheduled to begin in May.

  • Playing it safe is the riskiest choice.
How can they know people are honestly answering those questions? I mean any of them could lie because there's no way the judge can find out for example if they watched This is it or not.

What would be hilarious is if a believer answered the questions with utter and complete honesty.
