Epic Records

“Immortal,” a new album featuring the music of the late pop legend Michael Jackson, will be released next month, Epic Records announced this morning.

The album will include more than 40 of Jackson’s original recordings, but they will be “re-designed and re-imaged,” according to a statement from Epic. To be released Nov. 21, the album will include mashups of Jackson’s hits as well as new, never-before-heard outtakes, including an alternate take on the Jackson 5′s hit “ABC.”

“Immortal” will serve as the musical inspiration for “Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour,” a new Cirque du Soleil production.

The show will provide a “riveting fusion of Michael Jackson music, choreography and Cirque du Soleil creativity” to offer fans around the globe “a unique view into the spirit, passion and heart of the artistic genius who forever transformed global pop culture,” according to the record label’s release.

The North American leg of the show premiered yesterday in Canada and will come to the United States on Oct. 15.

“Immortal” — the album — will be released as both a deluxe double disc version and single disc. The album is helmed by Kevin Antunes, who said in the release that Jackson’s “musical essence” was the driving force behind the project’s creative energy.

“From the studio to the stage, there’s an undeniable integrity and resolute truth in Michael’s vocal performances that are highlighted in the ‘Immortal’ arrangement,” he said. “It was built with love and respect for Michael’s music, his family, and his millions of fans around the world.”

Jackson died June 25, 2009 after being administered a lethal dose of propofol, a powerful intravenous sedative.  His personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, in on trial in Los Angeles for  involuntary manslaughter for his alleged role in Jackson’s death.

The new album is being released by Epic in conjunction with estate of the late pop star.

Thank you - where I work I am working 4-6 months ahead so I am dealing with 2012 information. My brain transferred that over by mistake :)

I have fixed the date. Blessings!

Attorney Howard Weitzman says he and other estate officials — including executors John Branca and John McClain are making more plans for Michael Jackson for 2012.
Weitzman says that in addition to the Cirque show (The Immortal World Tour), the Jackson estate is contemplating several other projects.

Quote
"The 25th anniversary of the “Bad” album in 2012  lolol/ may be commemorated with a special package similar to 2008′s “Thriller 25,” while another set of unreleased material to follow 2010′s “Michael” collection is also being considered. “It’s a pretty vibrant estate in the sense that it continues to generate not just catalog opportunities but plenty of other ideas,” Weitzman says.

Another compilation....  :(
I know what you mean. Aside from actually seeing him alive, my preference always is more of his unreleased songs, and unseen video footage of him-- nothing besides him alone will thrill me!  Actually though, this hoax with the 2 year journey, and Front and TS right with us, has been an absolute thrill already!  But I know Michael's passion has always been collaboration with and showcasing many other people and their talents. Think of all the many people who have already benefitted from this hoax production!

I wasn't overly bowled over by his last album it wasn't great. The same with Amy Whinehouse's too they just lack the quality and sound mashed together. If they can't be done properly they should be left alone.

I agree they should pay more attention to quality when it comes to MJ's products...  As a MJ supporter, I buy any album out there cause I wouldn't want him to fail.
A matter of love and loyalty. I would never abandon him cause he did so much for me, over the years, through his art.

Hey, MJ, I LOVE you, man!  respect/
