Controversial ad with Europe "destroyed" during the European Championship

A Chinese TV plays key World War II Championship with the old continent become a devastated area of battle.

A war-torn Europe is the apocalyptic scenario chosen by Chinese television to promote the issuance of the Euro. The cable channel "TV Now", based in Hong Kong, has been a spot of three and a half minutes in which football, "anime" warmongering and science fiction are brought together by all kinds of special effects. Many will remember in the video the adventures of "Captain Tsubasa" Japanese animated series that conquered the small screen in the 90's. I would even go to the movies under the title, among other productions, 'Great Battle in Europe ", another nod to the television ad produced by China. "The stadium has towers and banners, like a castle and a moat deep and wide around the field . At noon, a white line indicates the disputed territories, "wrote Eduardo Galeano. Symbolism often used by big sportswear brands in their advertisements and that China has received a twist. In the spot, Europe is destroyed by missiles, tanks and soldiers that blend with the figures of the players moving in the pitch, alter ego of the battlefield. The devastation in the film reaches the Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower, the Brandenburg Gate and the Colosseum, pumps and grass on fire. A video in which the singer , with a theme more suited to Eurovision that a climate of war, hangs around with the backdrop of European symbols annihilated and a stadium which, interestingly, among the flags of the teams, on which stands the Spain- is crowded by an audience of Asian features. Football, heir to the war Total war appears in the video won by the players. Less benevolent interpretations have circulated on the Internet pointing to the consequences of the global crisis, which only seems to escape the 'beautiful game'. More convoluted is the reading of the defeat of Europe against the "attack", although sports-key, the Asian giant. "symbolic warfare in football, it shows us the way in which people who attend and live the sport acquire certain types of behaviors that are trying to release tension and sublimating, is facing the other and create conflict but not in a physical form, insults, looks ugly, and other manifestations that are observed, since it does not translate into physical contact are symbolized or sublimated war, "says Juan Fernando Rivera Gómez, Department of Anthropology University of Antioquia in his study" Football, party, war and war materialized symbolic. Andrea

I would imagine the football in Europe distracted from what's going on there.  These people are very sneaky.

Just a sidenote here - watching the animated soccer players run in the video above reminded me of running in dreams, like you're weighed back and can't burst forward with real speed.
