2Pac is Alive?
August 29, 2014, 06:16:12 PM
I have never really delved into 2Pac's death but I read an article the other day that he was meant to be coming back on the 18th year of his death, which happens to be this year. I typed in 2Pac into Google to find his official website, You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, I wonder why it says 'Coming Soon'? :D Anyway at the bottom of the website it has a link to a management company called 'JAM'  :michael-jackson: , this linked me to their website You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login with the slogan 'We Manage Legends!' I don't know anything about JAM management so if anyone could give me further info, I would be grateful. Anyway, they manage artists that aren't alive anymore or have died in strange circumstances. I don't know if this will help as I don't know anything about JAM management OR 2Pac. If this is the return of 2Pac, maybe we will get a return of Michael. :abouttime: (I also found this video- )

“Sometimes the heart is so heavy that we turn away from it and forget that its throbbing is the wisest message of life, a wordless message that says, "Live, be, move, rejoice-you are alive!" Without the heart's wise rhythm, we could not exist.”
― Michael Jackson, Dancing the Dream

I know absolutely nothing about 2pac except that he had been shot. He was shot in September of 1996.

I took a look at his website - it says new site coming soon. I clicked on the management link and jam inc manages Michael through the estate:

“This company develops, preserves, extends and enhances artist legacies,” says Jeff Jampol, President of Jampol Artist Management, Inc. (JAM, Inc.). “We’re dealing with very important art, creation, and artists, and our job is to maintain, build, market, promote and oversee these artists’ legacies or, if you will, their brands. However, we are very careful and judicious in employing the terms ‘brand’ and ‘branding,’ as a lot of damage can be done in the name of commerce, and applying business terms to art can often sully art’s purity. On the other hand, when you bring that pure art to the marketplace, branding is a fundamental part of the mix, and when that foundation, or ‘brand,’ is a legacy beloved by generations of fans, you have to be extremely thoughtful about every single move you make. These iconic artists embody fundamental worldwide significance, not just musically and artistically, but also culturally, politically, socially and historically.”

As the founder and head of JAM Inc., which manages rock legends The Doors, Ramones, Tupac Shakur, and the Estates of Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, Peter Tosh and Rick James, Jampol has had ample opportunity to consider such issues. Indeed, he and his team are fond of citing the “Hippocratic Oath of Rock” as a guiding principle: First, do no harm to the artist’s legacy. But Jampol doesn’t view himself merely as a curator of classic catalogues. “The goal is to extend the reach of the artist and their work, using new distribution channels, new technology and other emerging resources, to place timeless art into a modern context.”

To that end, Jampol produced, with Dick Wolf, the 2009 Doors theatrical documentary film, When You’re Strange, narrated by Johnny Depp, for which Jampol and Wolf won the 2011 Grammy® Award, and were nominated for a 2010 Emmy® Award. Jampol also helped conceive, create and is a producer of the hit Broadway musical, A Night With Janis Joplin, which after touring the US for two years, premiered on Broadway in September 2013. Additionally, Jampol has produced musical and theatrical works, overseen deluxe reissues of classic albums; overseen large-format art books (The Doors by The Doors and Jim Morrison: Treasures); enlisted cutting-edge artists like Shepard Fairey (Obey Giant, the Obama “Hope” poster) to create new graphics; authorized remixes by top DJs; vigorously pursued film, TV and game placements targeting young audiences; rebooted merchandising initiatives; developed content-rich web destinations designed to serve longtime fans and new seekers simultaneously; and considerably more.

BIO

Michael Jackson, one of the most widely beloved entertainers and profoundly influential artists of all-time, leaves an indelible imprint on popular music and culture.

Five of Jackson’s solo albums – “Off the Wall,” “Thriller,” “Bad,” “Dangerous” and “HIStory,” all with Epic Records – are among the top-sellers of all time and “Thriller”holds the distinction as the largest selling album worldwide in the history of the recording industry with more than 70 million units sold. Additionally, singles released from the Thriller album sold more than 100 million copies worldwide, another all time record.

During his extraordinary career, he sold an estimated 750 million records worldwide, released 13 No.1 singles and became one of a handful of artists to be inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Guinness Book of World Records recognized Jackson as the Most Successful Entertainer of All Time and “Thriller” as the Biggest Selling Album of All Time. Jackson won 13 Grammy Awards and received the American Music Award’s Artist of the Century Award.

Michael Jackson started in the music business at the age of 11 with his brothers as a member of the Jackson 5. In the early 1980s, he defined the art form of music video with such ground-breaking videos as “Billie Jean,” “Beat It” and the epic “Thriller.” Jackson’s sound, style and dance moves inspired subsequent generations of pop, soul, R&B and hip-hop artists.

As an FYI Jeff Jampol is part of the MJonlineteam who distributes press releases from the estate and who will answer questions from Michael's fans.

I googled 2pac and found out where he had been shot. He was shot on Flamingo Road in Las Vegas. Murrays office was on Flamingo Road in Vegas. Coincidence?

I do find it odd that 2pacs website in August said 'coming soon' and it is now December and it still says the same thing. I don't know if the pic of the guy on the website is of 2pac or just someone who represents him (can't see the face which I find odd).

Love you Michael!

It is rumored and believed by some that Tupac Shakur is alive. There is anticipation that he will return in February 2015, Dallas, Texas, USA.

"It’s a great loss for us and I just hope and pray that the Creator, whatever you believe in, still holds us in favor to send us another angel like that. Because if not, we may have lost more than just a man. It must be something very special to send a man like that down. He influenced so many different people, so many different industries, politics, science, music, art ... And then to be taken away? Maybe we didn't take good care of him". - W. Snipes

On a side note, some of you may not be aware that his aunt, Assata Shakur is on the FBI's most wanted list and has been living in Cuba for decades.  With Obama's change in policy towards Cuba and the restoration of diplomatic ties, the question is, will she be extradited to the US to complete here sentence.

Quote
Authorities in New Jersey have said they hope a historic warming of ties between the United States and Cuba will help them capture and imprison Black Panther Assata Shakur. "We view any changes in relations with Cuba as an opportunity to bring her back to the United States to finish her sentence for the murder of a New Jersey State Trooper in 1973," said State Police Superintendent Colonel Rick Fuentes. The encounter left both the officer and a fellow Black Panther, Zayd Malik Shakur, dead. Shakur has said she was shot by police with both arms in the air, and then again from the back. She was sentenced to life in prison but managed to escape and flee to Cuba, where she has lived since 1984. What will happen to Shakur now?

It has been rumored that Tupac is in Cuba and there is some footage of him allegedly there, though, IMO, it's not conclusive.  Eminem has also said he was in one of his songs, for whatever that may be worth.  Some time back, Putin made a disparaging remark about American music but said he listened to Tupac.  Kind of an odd thing to say, I thought!  In any case, I think there is cause to speculate that Tupac might have sought and received asylum in Cuba.  But who really knows?
