anyway.. my point is.. i've never seen the history tour till today and the similarities to TII is strange.. there's the drill sceen.. very similar to TII.. even the soilders and the imagary in the background.. they had some foam speakers put up in the back when singing Black or White an they fell on them at the end.. these was exhibited at the O2 and was gonna be done in TII.. he sang Dangerous, and the outfit for this to be done in TII was at the O2 but not on the album but i'm guessing he was gonna do it..

only seems like a few but if you've seen it or gonna watch it, see if you find anything.. just seemed to me like a re-vamped History tour for TII.. well for the bits we've seen anyway..

i know that he did similar stuff in each tour.. but this was very very similar..
don't shout at me if you don't agree..

You think that one was bad, you should watch the Dangerous tour from 92 in Bucharest. It almost becomes disheartening at how little Michael deviated from old shows and tours. I've seen the J-5 tribute now done 4 times and each is very similar in style to the other. I mean even things like "clap your hands everybody" which should be spontaneous are deliberate. It's the exact same tribute each time, with or without his brothers. Motown 25 was the first time I saw it, then the Dangerous Tour, then the 2001 special and now this is it. It seems he would be sick of doing the same show every tour. And with his reportaire of music, you wuld think he would want to experiment and do some different material. Each tour things were added, but the structure of the shows never changed. Watching the Dangerous tour after seeing TII I almost got bored because it is almost the exact same show and it's not even as good as TII, which is supposed to be a rehearsal. I dont mean to sound harsh, but it just becomes noticeable after you see him enough. There should have been more variety. I even saw a DVD boxed set where you can get various concerts from around the world from each tour. I love Mike, but I couldn't even imagine sitting there and watching the same damn show just in a differnt location. it would drive me crazy because it doesn't change!
On the Dangerous tour i believe even he was getting bored. He had to have been and it must have been excruciating to keep going on doing it night after night. The costuming seemed bored and unimaginative. he even looks like he's trying to figure out what other dance steps he could possibly do. He starts to repetitive at points and not very inspired. And the sad thing is, and I know he noticed this too. No matter what, those fans STILL lost their minds each and every night. he could've came out on stage and read the phone book and they still would've been there for him. I know it had to get depressing for him.
TII looks far more inspired, but it's still the same songs...same show.

This is what a guy who wrote a book about MJ said about the Victory tour.  Even the parts where they interracted with the audience was the same.  As Jackie said in the new Jackson reality show...(I'm paraphrashing) The Jacksons dont just go up and jam, we never have and we never will, that is not the jacksons, we prepare, we get everything down.

it really never bothered me that Michael does/did the song numbers in the same way over and over again. I just thought that maybe he wants ALL of us around the world to have the same experience just like everyone else. For me, if i'm going to see him perform just once in my lifetime, i want to see him performing all of his songs and dances the CLASSIC way.

JMO, but I think he was brought up and taught that formulaic mentality. I mean he had Papa Joe who supposedly beat them if they got it "wrong".   :x

And then there's Motown..I get the impression they were about sameness and that formula for success. He was also a part of a group who did  A LOT of dancing, and the choreography had to be the exact same every time or it would have been a big hot mess. lol

In TII, Michael said he wanted it like he wrote it. He's a perfectionist. He never released anything until it was perfect. So how do you change "perfection" and make it better?

Again, just my opinion.  :D

i totally agree with everything.. i was just suprised after so many years he would still do the same thing.. i thought he may have changed some stuff.. like he said to experience things we've never seen before..

you know the WOW factor.. even tho it would have been WOW anyway cos its Michael.. but do you know where i'm coming from!!  :?

J5 back then were perfectionists - Michael was "raised" that way, Everything - every little move - was worked out before. He always staged his "stage persona" - you know... a great and persuasive pretender.

I am not sure who can remember - but the essential MJ did not change at all over the decades.

Even when he was a little boy (10 years old and even younger) he came across so unbelievaably "adult" (smiling, confident, playful, deeply emotional, wise, knowing, evertyhing) and - yes - already very "sexy" (most of all grown up women fell for that at the time and behaved as crazy as the teens and the kids).

There was no "average" socialisation for him at all  - from his early age on only and every time the same experience: screaming and fainting women, girls, boys and kids - trying to catch a piece of him (hair, clothes), trying to touch him (everywhere, literally), kiss him, just going crazy. And no every day life at all (not going shopping, to the movies, just walking in a park, no everywhere in this world without screaming crowds).

Can you imagine .... ??   I can`t.

I was watching the HIStory tour this weekend also. I saw a video that someone had out on YT about how MJ looked. They said the watch the Helsinki and Copenhagen when his singing "You are not alone." In Helsinki, he looks a lot smaller than he does in Copenhagen. I think they were trying to say that MJ had a double. Which I do believe. At the end of "You are not alone" in Helsinki he says "I Love You." But in Copenhagen he doesn't.  I am downloading all the HIStory tour from 1996-1997 and checking it out. Also, he is wearing a ring on his right index finger in Helinski, but he is not wearing a ring in Copenhagen.  Check it out. I could watch his concerts all day.  The only time I have seen MJ was when he was still with the J5.  I would've love to seen in concert, after watching  the Dangerous and HIStory tours. I did get the see the HBO special of MJ.
