Official says no charge yet against Murray

  • on: January 08, 2010, 10:01:43 PM
ABC news is reporting the following:

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The Los Angeles prosecutor's office on Friday said it has not yet decided whether to charge Michael Jackson's doctor with a crime in the pop singer's sudden death by cardiac arrest last June.

"We have nothing pending. No decision has been made and nothing has been filed," said a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. She declined further comment.

Earlier on Friday, celebrity website TMZ.com cited unnamed law enforcement sources as saying Los Angeles police concluded their final investigation in late December and would send their findings to the Los Angeles district attorney within weeks to determine whether to file criminal charges.

TMZ and other publications, also citing unnamed sources, said prosecutors may charge Dr. Conrad Murray with involuntary manslaughter due to gross negligence in his treatment of the "Thriller" singer, to whom the doctor administered the powerful anesthetic propofol before his death.

Jackson, 50, died on June 25 in Los Angeles, and the county coroner's office has ruled the death a homicide by drug overdose, determining that propofol and the sedative Lorazepam were the main drugs that caused his death.

Speculation about a possible charge against Murray has been brewing for months. Murray, a cardiologist with offices in Houston and Las Vegas, was hired to care for Jackson while the singer prepared for a series of comeback concerts.

Murray has told investigators he was not the first doctor to give Jackson propofol, according to court records.

Yes... because what TMZ are saying is that an "un-named" source from the LAPD has stated that they will send their file over to the DA in "weeks" and that the investigation is complete.
That is why the DA are saying "no charge" as they have yet to recieve the case file from LAPD.  Get it?  Phew!

No official statement has been released from LAPD.  Its all speculation.  TMZ and Fox are the only two news outlets claiming to have the heads up from this "source".  All other news outlets have run with it and many of them are mis-reporting the facts.

I have a feeling this may be bogus.
Ive searched the UK tabloids and the only one running with this is "The Sun". So it seems even the tabloids here dont think that the info or the news is that good from TMZ.

Also.  This soundbite:  Murray has told investigators he was not the first doctor to give Jackson propofol, according to court records.
WTF..  whats that got to do with anything Dr Murray??  Throwing stones to hide your hands???  Such stupidity.

That was kinda the point I was making .. unnamed sources vs named sources.. We all know it's coming.. they will be bringing what they have to a grand jury .. but it sounds like perhaps they have not completed the investigation.."we have nothing pending. No decision has been made and nothing has been filed .. I wasn't posting this because I felt they had no case or no evidence.. I just felt that a lot of people are kinda freaking out today without gathering all the facts   :)

Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the L.A. district attorney’s office, called reports that Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson’s physician, will be indicted on charges of involuntary manslaughter “bogus” when contacted by EW.com this afternoon.
In the story originally reported by the Associated Press, another spokeswoman for the L.A. D.A., Sandi Gibbons, was quoted as saying, “no final decision has been made.” Robison stands by that statement. “Nothing has changed,” she told EW.com. “It’s a bogus report. We don’t have the case.”
A spokeswoman for Dr. Murray sent EW.com the following statement: “We have refused to comment on stories involving unnamed sources and will continue to do so. However, we can confirm that we have not received notice of an impaneled grand jury and Dr. Murray has not been invited to testify. J. Michael Flanagan was added to Dr. Conrad Murray’s defense team this past week. His offices are in Glendale, California.”
Murray has been under investigation for some time in connection with the death of Jackson, which has officially been ruled a homicide caused by acute propofol intoxication. According to previously released court documents, the Houston-based physician allegedly purchased the drug in Nevada and shipped it to California, where he allegedly administered it to the late pop singer on the afternoon of his death.

This part is very interesting, he adds Flanagan to his team just before TMZ breaks the news, this is not looking good here, that means he knew before hand that the charges would be laid .

Apparently he was Britney Spears' lawyer previously and he was added on the 4th.

Didn't we just learn that the supposed real name of Mr. Murray is Carter and that this man is married to a family doctor? (see other threads on Murray)

So doesn't this give us enough suspicion about what press agencies and gossip channels are releasing?
This is an everlasting faucet of lies and vivid phantasies just to keep the dirty water running.
And it doesn't matter whether the name is TMZ, Sun, Enquirer, CNN, CBS, ABC, MSNBC or whatever they like to call it. The principle is lies to falisfy reality.

NOBODY official confirmed the death of Michael Jackson to date.
All documents we were presented turned out to be fake, falsified, not valid.
The pictures and videos were debunked as photoshopped, dated from other eras, taken at least twice at different dates / daytimes.

The whole MJ case has been brought to us as a gigantic reality show by the Jackson family clan. Reality show means to show a presentation of a "make-up" of "as is" from a certain point of view. This makes "as is" to "as if" (remember Sony's "make.believe"?).
Reality show does not mean truth.
Reality show is putting in scene a wonderland for everybody to gaze at.

Of course there is no charge against Murray, not even in sight.
We will be presented videos of Murray in a court room for sure.
BUT remember then the video of Murray's court case of child support with the zoom at the garbage can and the 4 windows as decoration.

This is all movie, all elements of this reality show are being produced and then delivered to press and they are STILL falling for all the garbage and multiply it.
I guess Michael will continue to play them for a lot longer period because it is just too funny how stupid they are.

Yes.
No official press release or comment to date neither on Michael Jackson nor on Conrad Murray.
(Not considering tweets or emails as such is private stuff, e.g. if coroner likes to answer fan emails)

TMZ are keeping the fire burning and I doubt that it is their own idea.
IMHO they are being paid for stiring the soup and buying time.

"Let it simmer".

We are still in simmer phase since wake-up is only beginning.

OK, here we go trying to be precise in the fog of hearsay - enjoy how we were being fed a "make.believe" and did suffer from our own colouring the black & white picture that was given to us (in concluding what was never said). The trap was wide open and we all fell into it in the beginning, didn't we? Even the coroner did not know what he said (or had to say). ;-)

See the original transcripts of the CNN emissions:

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0906/25/ng.01.html

Note please that the first statements on Michael are being made by an "Unidentified Male".
"we were notified by LAPD that Mr. Jackson was transported from his residence by paramedics to the hospital" (huh? LAPD knew about the transport? and informed media or whoever "we" is?)
"Michael Jackson apparently suffered cardiac arrest."
Then the speculations on the death cause began.

"LAPD presence, which very shortly after his death arrived"

"CORRAL: The reason it is a coroner`s case is because there was no doctor in attendance to sign the death certificate. Anyone -- anytime a person dies of natural causes, there has to be a doctor. If there`s not a doctor in attendance, then it would become a coroner`s case."
(I thought they had doc Murray (who is assumingly no doc as we learned yesterday) and worked at UCLA one hour on Michael - without any doc present?)

"CORRAL: We don`t know the cause of death."

"CORRAL: The hospital pronounced him -- the hospital pronounced him dead. They did not give a cause of death. That`s what we`re going to do because they did not have a doctor in attendance." (Which is wrong since 1) Jermaine Jackson did pronounce Michael dead and no doctor nor UCLA and 2) what is a hospital without attendance of a doc when somebody is apparently dying?)

They immediately fed us with "drugs applied may have caused the death" and started immediately discussions about shady doctors and pharmacies and prescription patterns - do we wonder about that now? They started immediately a comparison with Anna Nicole Smith death of drug overdose. Huh?

Some days later, CNN and authorities are still not sure
http://edition.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0906/29/ng.01.html
"You earlier heard Janet Jackson talking about her brother`s death."
"Lieutenant Fred Corral. He is with the coroner`s investigative division, investigating the death of Michael Jackson." "...the LAPD and the coroner`s investigators have been back to Michael Jackson`s home, his rented Bel-Air home, and have removed trash bags of evidence." Would you pack "evidence" in "trash bags"?

"LT. FRED CORRAL, CORONER`S INVESTIGATION DIVISION (via telephone): That`s correct, Nancy. It`s part of our protocol. This is standard in death investigations. Oftentimes, we need to go back to scenes, and we did go back there and it`s my understanding we did collect evidence. We are bringing that back to our facility.

GRACE: Lieutenant Corral, the death occurred at the end of last week. This is Monday evening. Do you believe that the scene has been tampered with in any way? Or has the scene been watched? Has it been taken care of so no tampering could take place?

CORRAL: As far as that, the information we were given, we went back there again to follow up on investigation information that our investigators need to go back for. Again, this is a common -- this is very common, Nancy. We do go back to scenes. And it`s not whether or not a scene was tampered with. We want to go back either for evidence collection or to interview other witnesses who may have been there, or again, at the request of our medical examiners to check on maybe medications or other issues that our doctors want to make sure we collect, in addition to information to establish a cause of death."

"CORRAL: All I can tell you is our office has not released any documentation. "
"What I can confirm is that there was additional evidence collected at the scene."

Neither UCLA nor the coroner nor LAPD has issued an official document or statement that Michael Jackson died.

What they and media have issued is all kind of information around a supposed death case and investigation on it that WE put into a puzzle AS IF it were true and real news.

That is my knowledge to date.

To read more about thinking errors, see this e.g.:
http://principlesforpeace.com/2009/01/2 ... rror-list/

To read more about the duties of coroners as such, see this e.g.:
http://www.wisegeek.com/what-are-the-du ... oroner.htm
"any death which takes place outside of a hospital is considered suspicious"

Actually, if I recall right, Michael died at home, during transport, at arrival and after more than one hour of "work" on his body.
So no wonder the coroner was confused. ;-)
