I can hear a slight "gasp" or like he went out of breath when he says "What about Abraham"? .  It happens in both videos, but its heavier on the Grammys version.  Maybe it was prerecorded, but also he could have left it like that to give us a hint?

in the tribute before "what about yesterday" you can hear the bit of a hiccup sound michael did.

but if you listen to the short film for earth song you don't hear the hiccup.

Sorry i couldnt hear what ya were talking about...but when i was listening to it i thought it sounded live but i didnt hear the change in lyrics or the clearing of the throat...but it did definately sound live...i also caught lionle saying singing WITH MJ lol i was like oh really hmm and i kept expecting to see MJ walk out haahaa like how they introduced the other singers walking out one at a time instead of them all being there at once they walked out haha...i thought MJ was gonna come out on his part lol
