On Italian commercial TV, 15.2.10, was an interview with MJ's rabbi ~ Shmuley Boteach.
He was talking about MJ, as his close friend regarding book The Michael Jackson Tapes.

S.B. was presented by conductor as a writer of the book, who is MJ's rabbi (11.29).
After that she quoted S.B.:"I am friend of MJ, not his fan" (11.34).

Can you upload that interview? SO the Rabbi stated that HE IS (present tense) a friend of MJ not his fan. Hmmmm well? Maybe not much on this because we all here state that we are michael jackson fans right? When you are talking to others about MJ you don't say anything like "I WAS a MJ fan" I know I dont I still say I AM a MJ fan. :?

You can still be a fan of somebody after they have died though, so like say I AM a fan of Bernie Mac...you can say that but since Bernie Mac is dead I can't say I AM a friend of Bernie Mac...see where I'm going?

Yes indeed, that phrase sounds a bit uncommonn to me.

Who was he scared of? We knew he had an enemy list containing Uri Geller,Rabbi Shmuley,Tom Sneddon,Tommy Motola.

I was not shocked. I dreaded this day and knew it had to come sooner rather than later.
In the two years that I had attempted, ultimately unsuccessfully, to help Michael repair his life...

So, was MJ's friend or not?
If you are someone's friend you couldn't predict his end of life..

You cannot predict an exact death date as a friend, but if someone is leading a destructive life, then yes, one could say they feel that person is most likely not going to live a long life.

Still I have zero respect for Rabbi Shmuley. MJ & he were friends & yes, Shmuley did state had felt he had to distance himself because MJ did not wish to heed Shmuleys' advice.

However, Shmuley had no right to reveal those taped conversations. Mj never gave his permission as far as I can recall. Yes, Shmuley does write & sell books, but IMO he had no legal permission to reveal those conversations.

Ive read the book and i didnt think it was all that bad... in fact it was very interesting to hear Michael in his own words.

yeah, I listened to some of the tapes. Yeah they were pretty interesting to listen to MJ speak.

Where is it stated in writing that MJ granted Shmuley permission to publish the tapes or the book?

MJ distanced himself from Schmuley quite some time before his death. Any information would be appreciated.

well said just because people claim to be his friends does not make it true a lot of them was out for money if MJ wanted that book made public he would have done it while he was alive not wait until he is gone so he can't speak about what he was feeling a the time

So, also here is all obout the money.

It seems like rabbi appears on TV show just to make some advertising for his book (Italian version) using MJ's name and past friendship to keep himself as a positive person in the public eye..

Btw, when I was watching intw. on TV, I thought for a while that it has sth. to do with a hoax (although I really don't seek hoax everywhere) - because of stated "friendship" / that rabbi might have some kind of contacts with MJ... :mrgreen:
