"He's alive" sign language during memorial
February 23, 2010, 03:18:19 PM
Hi guys!
I've wondered a long time if I should post this.. or not.
Eva has changed my mind so here I go

I've figured this out but not all the credits goes to me also to: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login (Cootje of this forum) she helped me find the video of the memorial :)

First I want you to see this video of the memorial during the "Will you be there" song: 1:22 and 1:54
[youtube:3e2i2bvi]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVQvy6Q_Oj8[/youtube:3e2i2bvi]

Take a look at the sign language at 4:10 you see thumps up then thumbs towards the sky the "He's alive sign" in ASL (American Sign Language)
[youtube:3e2i2bvi]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ux79y-np-Vc[/youtube:3e2i2bvi]

And then take a look at this boy who's also doing American Sign Language (ASL) on the will you be there song, specially the part of "Lead me" you can clearly see that he's making a different sign then the dancers during the memorial![youtube:3e2i2bvi]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJLqOEK6LXA[/youtube:3e2i2bvi]
At: 2:20 (Lead me) This boy does not do his thumbs up..does he?

What I'm trying to say is :During the memorial they make a "He's alive"!!!sign, during the "Lead me part"!!!

So they ARE trying to tell us that he IS alive right?

Wow, that's great! You can see it very clearly in both videos (the thing with the thumbs)!
Amazing, thank you!

Brilliant catch! I do agree with you. One point though...

The man who is signing in the ASL video doesn't do the He's Alive sign, but he is only signing what Michael is singing - the dancers move to (and sign) the words of the backing vocalists, not Michael. (Hope that makes sense). But I checked the memorial version against a concert version and they seem very different. What we need is someone who can read ASL to interpret the memorial dance and see if there is a message in it.

Speechless, Speechless, That\'s how you make me feel!!!
I Love You now and forever Michael

Wow, good job! Although, I couldn't help noticing what Shake pointed out, the guy interpreting Will you be there in sign language didn't do ANY sign on "lead me" which was sung by the choir...
