last year I bought a Q magazine at the airport with MJ on the cover. This part of story inside is exactly as the one on this link. I can't believe it. Not the same writers, though.

Yeah I've read parts of this before. But different sources.

Not sure what to make of this. Interested to see what others think.

I posted about the A in AEG with few responses a short while back.  In my mind, AEG was bad news for Michael.  They wanted Michael in their hip pocket, so to speak and that 0-2 contract basically put him there.

The concerts, Phillips acknowledged, are a do-or-die moment for Jackson. "If it doesn't happen, it would be a major problem for him career-wise in a way that it hasn't been in the past," he said.

I don't understand...why would it be a major problem for Michael's career in a way that it hasn't been in the past?  What I get from this article is that there was a lot of pressure put on Michael from every angle. They mention there was possibly movies in Michael's future...could they have reversed the order and put the movie first? Hmmm..

I'm proud to be a child of God and a member of MJ's Army of L.O.V.E.

"Press coverage of my life is like [watching] a fictitious movie...like watching science fiction. It's not true." ~Michael Jackson (2005)

"You should not believe everything you read. You are missing the most important revelations". Craig Harvey 3-15-2012

That article sends chills through me.  It seems that Michael jumped at the chance to get back on his feet and accepted this foolishness out of desperation.  Those 2 powerful men spell trouble for Michael if he didn't deliver. It also puts Ortega in a bad position.  This being so close to the time Michael went away feels a little uncomfortable.  Men with that kind of power can have a person "disappear" forever and no one would dare question to what destination, get my drift?  I could sense Ortega''s and Michael's strained relationship in the body language in some of the TII scenes and in Ortega's condescending tone with Michael at times.  I hate to let my mind stray towards what could have happened.  I would rather turn to my heart that tells me that Michael was able to get away from this avalanche just in the knick of time.  It appears that Michael would have been indebted to these two sharks for the rest of his life.  "...treated like an institution..." what did they think Michael was a thing and not a human being?  That is deep and the repercussions could run deep  Freakin mobsters.  Why did Michael draw these kinds of people into his circle?  Oh yeah, money :?  They were filthy rich for sure, but also apparently scheming, conniving and treacherous.

If posts like this don't get much replies this does just raise the importance to look into this much deeper.
The circumstances of his life are the key to the circumstances of his disappearance.
We should not look into public mainstream media, we need to look into professional sources which will give smaller response but better results. Running with the big applause sources is dancing in front of the curtain but not getting what happened in the back.

I don't know if we will ever know anything from what was decided in the backoffices of MJ's life.
But I do not feel comfortable with Thome Thome who is not only a "private person" as he claims to excuse his silent presence but has connections to powerful finance companies (and is involved personally in some businesses).
I would wish that MJ had good counselors by his side.
What we have seen so far is that there were many vultures in his life only going for their share. So I will not exclude that MJ was forced to go underground in order to fulfill or not fulfill whatever contract.

In the end, I hope it will turn out like the "clever tailor" fairy tale: killed 7 causes with one stroke. One among them the business issues.

Thanks for the articles.

What I find strange too, is the Jermaine-Thome-Dileo-Phillips-Michael connection.
All of them were in the emergencyroom at UCLA and Thome called Jermaine the only spokesman for the family,"and please no more questions". Dileo had to tell  the kids what happened. What a strange uniting-thing.

I remember that in the beginning I even did not feel comfortable with Jermaines role in this,I thought him to be on the evil side.
Sometimes the only explanation for this mess seem to be an extremely chaotic and last-minute change situation, caused by some severe and serious developments, that ended in not understandable steps taken.

But the fact he called Branca and Dileo back sort of makes me think he put trust in people he knew for a very long time and he knew that THEY knew HIM .Of course, this is not very objective, it is more my gut.

To this financier, Michael Jackson is an undervalued asset
Others have tried to revive the onetime pop star's performing career. Tom Barrack is convinced he's the 'caretaker' to do it.
May 31, 2009|Chris Lee and Harriet Ryan
Tom Barrack, a Westside financier who made billions buying and selling distressed properties, flew to Las Vegas in March 2008 to check out a troubled asset. But his target was not a struggling hotel chain or failed bank.

It was Michael Jackson. The world's bestselling male pop artist was hunkered down with his three children in a dumpy housing compound in an older section of town. At 49, he was awash in nearly $400 million of debt and so frail that he greeted visitors in a wheelchair. The rich international friends who offered him refuge after his 2005 acquittal on molestation charges had fallen away. His Santa Barbara ranch, Neverland, was about to be sold at public auction.

In Jackson, Barrack saw the sort of undervalued asset his private equity firm, Colony Capital, had succeeded with in the past. He wrote a check to save the ranch and placed a call to a friend, conservative business magnate Philip Anschutz, whose holdings include the concert production firm AEG Live.

Fifteen months later, Jackson is living in a Bel-Air mansion and rehearsing for a series of 50 sold-out shows in London's O2 Arena. The intervention of two billionaires with more experience in the boardroom than the recording studio seems on course to accomplish what a parade of others over the last dozen years could not: getting Jackson back onstage.

His backers envision the London shows as an audition for a career rebirth that could ultimately encompass a three-year world tour, a new album, movies, a Graceland-like museum, musical revues in Las Vegas and Macau, even a "Thriller" casino.

"You are talking about a guy who could make $500 million a year if he puts his mind to it," Barrack said recently. "There are very few individual artists who are multibillion-dollar businesses. And he is one."

Others have tried to resurrect Jackson's career but failed, associates say, because of managerial chaos, backbiting within his inner circle and the singer's legendary flakiness.

Even as Jackson's benefactors assemble an all-star team -- "High School Musical's" Kenny Ortega is directing the London concerts -- there are hints of discord. Last week, two men identified themselves as the singer's manager; a month before, a respected accountant who had been handling Jackson's books was abruptly fired in a phone call from an assistant.

But Jackson's backers downplay the problems. "He is very focused. He is not going to let anybody down. Not himself. Not his fans. Not his family," said Frank DiLeo, his current manager and a friend of three decades.
