Why Do They Insist CPR On The Bed!!!!
March 15, 2010, 05:48:07 PM
Ok so i was watching Famous Crime Scenes:Anna Nicole Smith so Moe Brighthaupt's wife Tasma Brighthaupt after seeing Anna laying there unconscious she performed CPR on the bed!!!
Like really?!? And right after that i thought of Conrad Murray performing CPR on the bed with Michael!!!
It's weird to me but being in shock to see that person laying there like that could cause them to do it right? out of quick response :? ? Make what you will of that but i wanna hear what you guys think of that and please if u need more info on that please don't hesitate to ask me to understand better :D  ;)

Sun comes up on this new morning
Shifting shadows, a songbird sings
And if you feel alone, I'll be your shoulder
With a tender touch, you know me so well
Somebody once said, it's the soul that matters
Baby, who can really tell when two hearts belong so well

It´s like the whole thing about performing a CPR at all when he was supposed to have pulse, weak, but pulse. Isn´t it counterproductive?

I dont know the Ana Nicole Case...  but yes you are right.  When an untrained person is faced with this kind of emergencey situation then they could well start doing CPR on the bed...   because they are UNTRAINED and INEXPERIENCED so they do the best they can in the situation.

This does NOT apply to Dr Conrad...  a CARDIOLOGIST.   He has had the training, the knowledge and the experience to know what is needed.
He was being PAID a lot of MONEY to keep Michael alive and well....  so faced with this situation he should have been PROFESSIONAL and CALM and completed CPR in the correct manner.

Hope that helps.

I agree that for someone who hasn't performed CPR before, if they're not instructed to place the patient on the floor, they may not. To them, the person they're doing CPR on is still that same person, and the thought of having to pull them onto the floor may be creepy. To avoid having to pull someone onto the floor, it may look more comfortable for the patient to be in the bed. I mean, it's not correct, but it is a stressful situation for someone who hasn't been in it before, especially if they know the patient well.

I do agree that in CM's case, he's just a complete idiot. And while doing CPR on a patient with a faint pulse is not wrong, and is at the discretion of the doctor/etc., I do not believe CM did it for a reason he believed would benefit MJ. I think he's just an idiot.

Thank you that´s a question I´ve made several times but had no response, so the matter was freaking me out...
But, tell me, it is dangerous, isn´t it?

Actually, it is not dangerous to perform CPR on a person with a faint or infrequent pulse--it is something you would know to look for if trained in CPR (particularly advanced lifesaving skills). At any rate, If a person is not breathing and the pulse is very faint or infrequent that clearly means that oxygenated blood is not perfusing the major organs of the body (ie: kidneys, brain etc.) so one would start chest compressions to pump blood to those vital organs. Hope this helps.
