Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me

  • on: March 27, 2010, 12:54:33 PM
If I am posting this in the wrong place... feel free to remove it.

Last night after i was reading thing on this site. Something started to click in my head.

I remember when I was little there was a song that came out Rockwell- Somebody's Watching Me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YvAYIJSSZY

Watch it.. There was a lot of things that stand out!!!

Now at Wikipedia:

Rockwell is the son of Motown CEO Berry Gordy Jr. The singer had himself signed to Motown without his father's knowledge. The elder Gordy did not find out that Rockwell was his son Kennedy until after the single and the accompanying album, Somebody's Watching Me, were released.[citation needed]

Produced by Curtis Anthony Nolen, the song featured backing vocals by Michael Jackson.[2] "Somebody's Watching Me" peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1984, and reached the top of the Billboard R&B singles chart, as well as reaching number six on the UK Singles Chart.

It was the only major hit (one-hit wonder) for Rockwell. His follow-up single, "Obscene Phone Caller," was Rockwell's only other Top 40 single, reaching #35 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 2009, the song was ranked #20 on VH1's 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders of the 80s.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somebody%27s_Watching_Me

Now look at the Alternate covers!!! What do you see!!!!!!!!!

Makes me wonder if Michael wrote the song and didn't take the credit for it..

If there is a thread on this I am sorry to start a new one.. I looked to see but found nothing.. lol

Re: Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me

ok, I kept watching the video and something really got to me...  in the beginning it shows a newspaper with chinese writing..

Something hit me when I kept seeing a dog, pig and a crow! Made me look up the year of the Dog and Pig!

Year of the Pig:  Hai (?) is the twelfth sign of the Earthly Branches. Its animal representation is the pig or boar (?). In Chinese culture, the pig is associated with fertility and virility. To bear children in the Year of the Pig is considered to be very fortunate, for they will be happy and honest.

People born within these date ranges, of the lunar calendar, can be said to have been born in the "Year of the Pig," while also bearing the following elemental sign:

    * 3 February 1899 – 31 January 1900: Earth Pig
    * 30 January 1911 – 17 February 1912: Metal Pig
    * 16 February 1923 – 4 February 1924: Water Pig
    * 4 February 1935 – 23 January 1936: Wood Pig
    * 22 January 1947 – 9 February 1948: Fire Pig
    * 8 February 1959 – 25 May 1961: Earth Pig
    * 27 January 1971 – 14 February 1972: Metal Pig
    * 13 February 1983 – 1 February 1984: Water Pig
    * 31 January 1995 – 18 February 1996: Wood Pig
    * 16 February 2007 – 6 February 2008: Fire Pig
    * 5 February 2019 – 24 January 2020: Earth Pig
    * 2031 – 2032: Metal Pig
    * 2043 – 2044: Water Pig
    * 2055 – 2056: Wood Pig

Year of the Dog

1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006

People born in the Year of the Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They have a deep sense of loyalty, are honest, and inspire other people¡¦s confidence because they know how to keep secrets. But Dog People are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. They care little for wealth, yet somehow always seem to have money. They can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant at parties. They can find fault with many things and are noted for their sharp tongues. Dog people make good leaders. They are compatible with those born in the Years of the Horse, Tiger, and Rabbit.

MICHEAL WAS BORN IN 1958!!!

Crow, Mysterious Pagan Symbol
Sign of Law, Creation, Magick, Prophecy, Cunning and Trickery

In the video Rockwell is looking at a tombstone with his name on it!

Hmmm.. what does that remind you of

from wikipedia:

In 1984, Rockwell released his biggest hit single, "Somebody's Watching Me", featuring childhood friends Michael Jackson on guest vocals (notably in the chorus lyrics), and Jermaine Jackson singing back-up.

I have been thinking of this song at least a zillion times since June 25th.  For
some reason, it randomly reverberates through my mind at the oddest of times.

I never thought to look for a clue here. Maybe dig deeper into Rockwell.  All I knew
about this song was Rockwell asked his friend Michael to sing backup vocals.

Wow! I'm so young, lol (I'm turning 22 in 10 days). I never knew that was Mike in the background. I kinda just listened to that song if it played & sang along to the chorus but never really noticed but now I hear him soooo clear. I wonder if he did write it & not take credit for it, I wouldn't be surprised. Interesting, thanks for posting. I learn something new everyday on here. lol.

Maybe it was a process vice versa: Michael wrote the song and asked Rockwell to sing the lyrics and to perform in the video?? We should remember it was in 1983, at the peak of Jacksons success after Thriller. It could have been a way of passing criticism on stalkers and the media which constricted his private life without showing his own face..??

And maybe we should also allow ourselves to look for some further clues, see my last posts on this thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=5932&start=50

Re: Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me

I wouldn't dismiss things so quickly. music and movie industry are very corrupt! Even any major corporations are!
You see it everywhere! There is major smoke screens that are put into place to hide the fact! Police and other agencies are bought off very easy by any industry.

When I look for truth in anything in this world, I don't take anything that is said as the truth. I make sure i look at everything.. If something don't seem right.. Most of the time it's not! You have to trust your inner self!

I was born in CA, and close to LA and lived there for quit a bit of time and I will just say that I have had a family member in a certain  agency. In fact a few diff ones and somethings never sat right in diff parts of life when I lived there.

I will not go into it all but, it made me since i was young to not trust what I see in the news, trust certain people and all that! I am haunted by many things because of all the corruption.

IMO I see a lot of MJ in it! MJ did have a lot of symbolism to what he did.. I feel he had a major hand in this song and video!

You can't always believe what the industry tells you. Look at Milli Vanilli! They never sang the songs and the industry made millions believe they did!!!!

Everyone here is in search of the truth! Anything that is/might be connected to MJ is worth to look into.
Somethings may lead to a dead end but there maybe something hiding waiting to come to light.

Every bit of info from anyone will help us uncover the truth! Even if it something that leads to a dead end!

it's all for L.O.V.E!!!!    :D

Here is 2 more things I have found about Somebody's watching me.
Thought I would just add it to the topic..

Rockwell Testifies Jackson Was Inspiration for '80s Hit.

--WARNING: SATIRE AHEAD--

In a stunning courtroom development, prosecutors put one-time Michael Jackson protege "Rockwell" on the stand to testify against the former "King of Pop". Rockwell, whose real name is Kennedy William Gordy, testified that Michael Jackson was the inspiration for his '80s hit, "Somebody's Watching Me".

Gordy, the son of Motown founder Berry Gordy, explained, saying "I was watching Michael with some kids one day, and it just kind of hit me what a freak he was. The way he was always watching them, like he was undressing them with his eyes. It really creeped me out. And that's where the song came from. I just put myself in the mind of one of the little boys, and how it would feel to be around Michael. Of course, I had to change the words a little to keep from being sued, but I think people knew who I was talking about."

Sample lyrics from Rockwell's song include:
I always feel like somebody's watching me
And I have no privacy (oh oh oh)
....
When I'm in the shower, I'm afraid to wash my hair
'Cause I might open my eyes and find someone standing there

Michael's freakish behavior was also the inspiration for some of the creepier shots in the accompanying music video.

"All those shots you see of me hiding in the closet, or standing in the shower with my boxers on, or running through the house trying to get away from that pig-dog, that's all Michael," said Rockwell. "Seriously. You wouldn't believe the stories I used to hear about him in the studio. My little nephew said every time he turned around Michael was sneaking up on him, dropping a bar of soap and asking him to pick it up, that sort of shit."

"Thank God by the time I recorded the song with him I already had my pubes, that's all I'm saying."

http://blogcritics.org/culture/article/ ... ation-for/

Ok, now watch the the video of VH1 popup video.

http://www.vh1.com/video/rockwell/20417 ... g-me.jhtml

Maybe that is why he can't be found after he testifies

IMO Rockwell was fool of crap! He wanted back into the spotlight.

So what we have so far is that Rockwell sang with MJ, I found he was born march 15th 1964 wich happen to be the years the jackson 5 started with motown. Rockwell and MJ do kinda look alike, especially the eyes, we dont know where Rockwell is now and I cant help but remember here how we found it odd that Michael wrote on his this is it cd, it was nice to sing with my brother again. HMMM... It's making me wonder here could there be a connection? I am not saying there is one. I am simply brain storming and this did pop into my mind. I actually feel embarassed sharing this.

This is what I found

Ross is the mother of five children. She married music business manager Robert Ellis Silberstein in January, 1971. Daughter Rhonda Suzanne Silberstein was born on August 8, 1971; Rhonda's biological father is Berry Gordy. She is now married; her married name is Rhonda Ross Kendrick. Ross and Silberstein had two daughters: Tracee Joy Silberstein, born October 29, 1972 (now known as Tracee Ellis Ross) and Chudney Lane Silberstein, born November 4, 1975 (now known as Chudney Ross). Ross and Robert Silberstein divorced in March 1977.

In January 1985, she married Norwegian shipping magnate Arne Næss, Jr.. Their sons are Ross Arne Næss (born October 7, 1987) and Evan Olav Næss (born August 26, 1988), now known as Evan Ross). After several years of legal separation, Ross and Næss were officially divorced in late 2000. Næss was killed in a mountain-climbing accident in South Africa in 2004.

Rhonda and Tracee graduated from Brown University, and Chudney from Georgetown University. All have followed their mother to show business. Rhonda gained success as an actress in television movies and daytime soap operas. Tracee was a co-star of the hit UPN sitcom Girlfriends. Chudney is active in behind-the-scenes work and is also a model. Son Ross currently attends New York's Marist College, where he is a ski club member[24], and has not followed his siblings into show business. Youngest son Evan Ross is a successful actor, starring in the successful major motion pictures, ATL and Pride (co-starring Terrance Howard) and the HBO film, "Life Support", co-starring Dana Owens (Queen Latifah) and his older sister, Tracee Ellis-Ross.

She had a child by Berry Gordy. Which makes Rhonda his half-sister

I came to Wikipedia to fix Michael Jackson. Together with others (especially Realist2 who I have great respect for as the main contributor) we did that, and now he's dead I have no real reason to be here, except to say  RIP MICHAEL JACKSON FOREVER

Is the one who started the page of Rockwell in 2006

Barry Gordy had an affair with Diana Ross for about a year. Her oldest child is Barry Gordy's. Her name is Rhonda Ross Kendrick, born August 13, 1971.That's why the changed the name of the group from The Supremes to Diana Ross and the Supreme. Diana Ross was sleeping with the boss. You may have seen her, she had a role in the movie "The Temptations." She played the role of Paul Williams (a Temptation) wife. She also played a role on "Another World." Rockwell and Rhonda are related because the have the same father. Here's a photo of her with your siblings and mother. They had honored their mother the BET Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. She is standing next to her mother.

Yes, I remember the Rockwell topic. It was me who started it - but as far as I know there are only old pics and information about Rockwell on the web. Nothing new and no new pics.

Does sb know where he is hiding or if he died last year  ??

http://gonzogeek.wordpress.com/2009/06/ ... own-death/

Someone wrote this:

I think the fake Micheal Jackson is/was Kennedy William Gordy (aka Rockwell).  Gordy, the son of MoTown mogul Berry Gordy achieved modest fame in the early 1980s with his only hit “Somebody’s Watching Me” which featured Jackson singing background vocals.  Gordy and Jackson were childhood friends and Gordy’s fleeting taste of fame made him an ideal candidate to replace Jackson as “Michael.”

Gordy simply disappeared from the spotlight and began his transformation under the watchful eye of Jackson.

I love it when a plan comes together.

At this point, I’m going to stop posting postscripts and just run with what I get – Stephe

It’s no secret that Rockwell doubled for Michael back in the 90’s…They had a similar sound, similar build.  What’s amazing is that they kept it going all these years.   Sure drugs helped, as evidenced by the large number of prescription pills they’ve been pulling out of his house, but still.  I can’t help but wonder if this is tied into Jermaine’s marriage to Barry Gordy’s daughter.

Another comment states:

On the Wikipedia page of Kenneth William Gordy aka Rockwell, it said there would be an album in 2010. The name of this album would be “Seriously, get these kids of my lawn” (yeah I know). But since about 2 months it was edited from his page. The guy just dissapeard in to thin air… Just google it…!

I don't think Rockwell said those things.  If he really thought MJ was freaky around kids and undressing them with his eyes, why be a hypocrite and ask him to perform on the song?

Michael Jackson's Body Moved From Tomb

Michael Jackson's body has been moved after the crypt where it was stored became a tourist attraction.

Michael Jackson's body has been moved amid fears fans would break into the crypt where it was stored.

The late 'Thriller' star's coffin was taken to a private tomb belonging to Motown records founder Berry Gordy after the memorial service last week, but thousands of people have flocked to the spot since the location was leaked last weekend.

The Jackson family have now moved the coffin to the basement of the main building at Forest Lawn Cemetery - where the singer's private funeral took place - until his final resting place is decided.

A source said: "The Jackson family was not pleased and ordered the casket to be placed in the basement for security reasons."

http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/st ... mb_1109652

After the services, Michael Jackson’s remains were temporarily laid in Berry Gordy’s crypt he purchased for his family in the Court of Remembrance section of Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood Hills.. The white marble, above-ground crypt owned by Gordy is empty besides Michael Jackson and described as a simple mausoleum only with a distinctive swooping letter “G.” Jackson is surrounded by Bette Davis, Sandra Dee and Liberace.

http://celebrifi.com/gossip/Michael-Jac ... 53953.html

If Michael Jackson's body is in Berry Gordy's family crypt, the Motown founder isn't admitting it.

http://celebrifi.com/gossip/Berry-Gordy ... 54201.html

Hmmm. starting to think Rockwell is the one that died not MJ

Yes I see it says 1968 on that one but I read on another web page yesterday, maybe even a different wikipedia page that it was 1964. I'll try to find where and post the link.

Ok you are right, I misunderstood what I read last night. The article I read actually stated that the jackson5 had been active from 1964 and we all know they we're active before joining motown.  Sorry guys I didn't intend to misslead anyone.

No, don't feel embarrassed.   8-)
I have heard this song in my head from the start, but that is I thought because the
research and hitting sites that now show Virus so it hard to then go retrieve the information
lost from the beginning.
The wikipedia site MAY change again.  Keep watching it.

Don't you think it ODD that all this leads back to Diana Ross?

Re: Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me

I'm just going to flat out say it!! I am getting this very strong feeling, like something is drilling this in my mind and it is the first thing that comes to my mind everytime I visit this topic. JUST A STRONG HUNCH!!! And I have no proof or any facts whatsoever to back it up but I still felt like sharing, maybe it will stop poping into my head after..

Ok so, I have a hunch that Rockwell could be Joe's and Diana's secret child wich would explain why Michael wrote a song called Dirty Diana, why Katherine hates Diana, why Diana was not invited at the funeral or memorial forget wich one it was/or both, would explain why Rockwell and Michael look so much alike, why I find Rockwell has Diana's lips. Also dont forget back in those years things like that we're kept hush hush and there we're very little divorces. Who knows, Katherine could have been so humiliated by it that she threated to put an end to the jackson5-motown deal and Berry decided to take responsibility for it having no choice and he was dating Diana in those years. I also always found it strange why Michael went to stay with Diana, wherever the other members of the group we're staying at that time could not have possibly been smaller than the house in Gary Indiana. And why Diana? I think there was mention in Taraborrelli's biography that they wanted Michael to learn from Diana from being around her... learn what exacly?? I dont know, there is a very good explanation out there for all these things I just brought up but how does anyone know they are the true reasons to why things we're played out that way???

Again, only a hunch and I mean no offense to anyone or the Jackson family by putting this out there. I am just always beeing to polite to even imagine putting ideas out like this one on the net but I feel we hit a dead end and maybe we need to explore new avenues to see where they bring us. And yes I do have a very strong feeling about this, but I cant say where it is coming from, I really dont know.

It's all for L.O.V.E. ;)

Re: Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me

I have not found Rockwell yet and strangely in the biography by Darwin Porter(not sure what to think of that book), the author talks about all kinds of things including the little bit of clubing Michael apparently did in NY. He mentions who he went clubing with and what they apparently talked about and did. So I figured if there could possibly anything anywhere about Rockwell it would be in that book and I went to the index(5-6pages) and there is nothing on Rockwell/Kennedy william gordy/somebody watching me. NOTHING!!

Now I am even more suspicious!! :o    That author covers everything and anything that apparently happened in Michael's life and then some!!    So why not talk about something that actually happened like his participation in Rockwell's song, wouldn't that be appropriate in a biography on Michale??

I have other books(biography and the autobiography) on Michael so I am definetly going to keep digging. If there is one thing I have learned in life, it's that when people(everyone) basicly avoid a topic, IT'S CAUSE IT'S HOT!!! (Not shouting   simply emphasizing).

That's a very creative hunch but the dates don't add up. The Jackson 5 did not sign with Motown in 1964. That didn't happen until 1968. In 1964, they were still with the regional label Steeltown. Plus Diana had very discriminating tastes and motivations. Diana only interacted with men who could help her career. In 1964, Joe Jackson was still a poor steel worker and of no use to Diana Ross.

I went for a drive today and listened to the radio while driving. Some songs played on a oldies/classic station. The station usually plays hits from the days gone by but you typically hear the same ones over and over. Seldom do they play lost hits like Rockwell's song. Well guess what song that they played out of the blue. I had not heard it played in over 10 years or so. Yes you guessed it, they played Somebody's Watching Me. I laughed out loud. The person in the lane next to me must have thought that I was some crazy woman as he watched me laughing and singing to the song.

It's all for L.O.V.E. ;)

Yes it was creative wasn't it !?! :? I did get the dates wrong as I've admitted to accidently doing so in a previous post. I still feel there is some kind of connection at least with Michael/Rockwell/Diana, that there is more there than meets the eye. But anyway no need to persue it unless something comes up pointing us in that direction. I am sorry if I offended you, I honestly did not want to offend anyone. :(

Review<Song>: Cuts like a knife…
January 5, 2008 by geekycoder
Geezer: (LB2) for All Songs: Knife | Somebody’s Watching Me

image  Rockwell, born Kenny William Gordy,  is a R&B artist and son of the song Motown Records founder and former CEO Berry Gordy image .  In 1984, he released the song Somebody Watching Me which features brothers Michael Jackson  background vocals followed by Knife.image
image  Knife (1984) image
This is a slow expressive song that depicts the feeling of losing someone.
Yet to find Rockwell’s original MTV. Anyway …

I don't know if this was suppose to read brothers'...or if they left a part off.  I cannot post the link to this
for some reason.

When I pretend wear a smile
to fool my dearest friends
I wonder if they know
it's just a show
I'm on a stage day and night
I go through my charades
but how can I disguise
what's in my eyes

some lyrics to Knife.

Last night I made a long post about Rockwell aka Kennedy Gordy..............I must have done something wrong when I posted it, but it is not here, and I don't have time to go into it all again, BUT:
Rockwell's mom is Margaret Norton, and was one of Berry's girlfriends.  She caused the break-up of his marriage to Raynoma.  Long story, but if you want the scoop on his mom, read the book Raynoma Gordy wrote..........excellent........
"Berry, Me and Motown".  It also talks about how Raynoma took him under her wing and helped him get "Somebody's Watching Me" produced, etc.
He didn't want the outside world to know he was Berry's son because he wanted to make it on his own merit, not riding on the coattails of his dad's fame, and yes, he was friends with MJ, and just said, hey, how about coming and recording on this song with me.

i truly understand what it's like to have a hunch or gut feeling about something.

I have often wondered about the short career of Rockwell. C'mon his dad was the founder of a huge and successful record label. It doesn't get any easier than that. Motown had some of the best songwriters and they could have written songs to fit Rockwell's singing style. Instead he became a one hit wonder and a trivia question. Why he dropped out of sight remains a mystery indeed.

Thank you for that link. Paris is spitting images of the kid on the left?
I know the "story" they gave, but I think it odd that Michael went to live
with Diana Ross.  It even strange, that Joe the father, in his control of
family, would LET Michael go live with Diana Ross.
And then, Jermaine marries Gordy's other daugther, thinking probably it would
get HIM ahead in the game.
The lyrics to Rockwell's songs, scream Michael to me.
They may put a quick spin on this Rockwell, but there is something to this
I believe.

Thank you for posting this. :D  Could it be though? Could Michael be Gordy's child? That is what is being insinuated on MJHD isn't it? I dont know what to think of this. :?

Definetly though, there's something up with this rockwell dude! IMO 8-)

Two of Rockwell's songs are featured on "The Last Dragon" 1985.

Also, there is a Ken Gordy Ford in CA!   Anyone want to call to find out
if him?

OK, This is getting a little crazy!   Please read below:

Kerry Gordy has been totally involved in the recording industry. His career began in 1973 working in the Motown Records mailroom. The early years of his career were spent in various administrative and creative capacities. In order for Kerry to separate himself at Motown from his father Berry, he changed his professional name to Kerry Ashby. During the 80's decade, any professional work done by Kerry was under the name "Kerry Ashby".
In 1984, as Motown’s A & R (Artist and Repertoire) representative, Kerry re-created himself as the British-accented artist persona Rockwell with the duet with Michael Jackson called “Somebody’s Watching Me,”[2] which became a huge hit for Motown. He was then promoted to the coveted position of Director of A&R, where he worked on projects with Gold and Platinum artists such as The Temptations, The Four Tops, Rick James and Billy Preston among others. He also worked on compilation albums for Diana Ross and Michael Jackson. He became a Senior Executive for the Gordy Company (his father’s company after selling Motown) in 1988 where he was responsible for supervising Business Affairs, A&R, Product Development, Administration and Personnel. Between 1991 and 1993 Kerry consulted Al Bell’s independently distributed label, Bellmark Records. This union culminated with $26 million in sales and yielded the year’s biggest international smash hit, “Whoomp! (There It Is)" by the group "Tag Team" [3].

Kerry’s mother, Raynoma, was a child prodigy in music and played eleven instruments. She orchestrated the first arrangements for Motown. Kerry lived with his mother until the age of 13. Kerry followed in his mother’s footsteps and plays several instruments as well. Kerry then moved to Los Angeles with his father Berry and became one of his father’s many protégés.

This would more likely fit the earlier theory.

Here's my question...
Who recorded the song ...Somebody's Watching Me under the name Rockwell...Kerry (Ashby) Gordy or Kennedy Gordy?

I was always under the impression that it was Kennedy Gordy yet the wiki  entry leads us to believe that it was really Kerry. BTW - are there pictures of Kerry? We do have a few early ones of Kennedy.

Yeah, thank you for posting pictures of Kerry.
After reading until bleary eyed, I have come to the conclusion that
Kerry is NOT Rockwell...that it must be Kennedy.  Kerry is taller and
more resembles his father Barry.
Kennedy is Michael's height and resembles him within the early facial
features.
I am warned that they would try to change the information and it looks
suddenly murky.  On one motown site, someone wrote in:" Happy birthday
Kerry aka Rockwell" on June 25th. (which has been pointed out in early
post).
Kerry seems to be more public and makes movies for Sony.

Re: Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me

  • on: April 05, 2010, 11:10:10 PM
I found this in article on Motown Era.

Raynoma Gordy reveals the following allegations in her book, "Berry, Me, And Motown:"
My boys often walked down to a West Hollywood park to play with the Jacksons and their other school friends. One day, my son Kerry, went down to the park, saw all his pals on the field and started walking towards the ball game. A man stopped him saying, "I'm sorry you can't play." Kerry did not introduce himself even though he knew who the man was. Instead he dashed into the game. The man ran after Kerry and pulled him back, "Now go on home, kid." This is a closed game.
Instead, Kerry hightailed it back into the game. The man was close to the boiling point as he chased after Kerry. He caught him, picked him up and started to remove him from the park. All of the sudden, Kerry asked the man, "Do you know my mother?" "Raynoma Gordy is my mother."
It took the man a beat longer to make the connection. "Oh, my God! You're my son!
"Yeah, Dad," Kerry said to Berry.
Berry was stunned. I received a call from him that night. "Guess what, guess what?" he tripped over his words. "I saw Kerry. And I didn't even know the kid." He was beside himself with the emotion of it.
One day, I was dropping Kerry off at school. From the car I saw a beautiful young black woman with a flawless face, another ghost from my past.
The woman was walking with a little boy around five or six years old. My stomach tightened and my breathing grew short.
It was Berry's former mistress Margaret. Smokey Robinson restrained me at a bowling alley from kicking her ass.
The boy Margaret was walking with was the child she was pregnant with when she was having an affair with my then husband, Berry Gordy.
I found out later that the boy (Kennedy Gordy) was bullied in school. When the bullies taunted him and terrorized him, an older boy would always suddenly appear and rescue him and then without a word, the older boy would turn and walk away.
Years later when Kennedy was staying at his father's house and Berry introduced him to his half brother Kerry, Kennedy's jaw dropped. He recognized Kerry as being the boy who always rescued him from the school bullies.
A few years later , Kennedy would record a million selling smash, "I Always Feel Like Somebody's Watching Me," with Michael Jackson. Kennedy recorded under the stage name, Rockwell.

Ok, so to clear this up once and for all for all of us :

1. Kerry (film maker) = Raynoma's boy
2. Kennedy (Rockwell) = Margaret's boy

Wich means that some people who put stuff on wikimobile had their stories mixed up. Hmmm.. those wiki sights really should be monitered and only allow factual information. :?

So basically now I'm starting to think I cant rely on those wiki sites for accurate info, they are another form of media. People can put anything on there and add a personal spin or opinion to it.  Is this correct? Or am I not understanding something here?

That is the way I understand it.
I am hoping this is not taking away from Hoax, yet there is something about
the way these boys were all linked and it weird that one who had some talent
and potential as much as anyone else, (except of course Michael - the star),
just disappeared.
Why can't we find out if he selling cars or in music business :!:    or
someone else entirely.

Just a thought but since he did have potential to really look like Michael, what if he was one of Michael's official decoys or doubles? Who know, it's just to odd how rockwell suddenly disappeared in thin air when he had talent. If he didn't, I dont think Michael would have agreed to lend his voice to do backup vocals in somebody is watching me. :? AGHRRRR I'm so confused in all this!!!

Ok.. so something is definetly up here!! How many people are actually looking into Rockwell in relation to Michael Jackson !?!

1. If we are the only small group then why this weird update making him younger than me wich is LITERALLY impossible ? Either someone from here is playing with us so we have a trator or ;

2. Rockwell really does come into play here somehow.

Maybe someone did this just for fun and chose the date freely - or it may be significant otherwise...
MTV was launched in August 1981. But I doubt that´s the answer.

Anything that happened to the day on August 15 1981?.... hmm...

Ok...so just a random thought I just had.... What if Rockwell's carreer was born on that day? What if he filled in for Michael on the tour? Because I am noticing in Michael Heatley's biography/tribute book there are pics of same time with lighter and then with darker skin... I dont know, just trying to make sense of all my observations.. :?

Guys, I have a question. What Joe Jackson not married before he met katherine, and got an annulment? Another thought, did anyone see the tv movie I think it was titled, The Jackson: The American Dream.  There was a line in there in which Joe Jackson stated about Berry Gordy, What he is trying to take another one of my sons. I am not sure, but this was before Michael came on the scene.

Your feedback on this.

There is something to Diana Ross, Joe Jackson, and Berry
Gordy that is setting my radar off, along with the Rockwell and
Michael configuration.
When we watch the Memorial, there were more than just a few
raised eyebrows at Gordy's speech and especially:
"What kid wouldn't give his right arm to fulfill his wildest dreams"

WHAT does that mean???? Do they take away his freedom
in exchange for stardom, or keep a secret like a double and it
is a secret or burden?

I have to disagree.  But, go back to picture on page 2 of this
thread, and WHY is Randy Jackson posted there on the session?
I thought they said it was Jermaine who helped sing back-up on
this song.

Maybe one doesn´t exclude the other and it´s both?
The sacrifice of freedom +  keeping a secret like a double = stardom + heavy burden.

You´re right... there were many sentences from different people at the
Memorial that made made me "hmm"...  :?
And literally speaking, to give the right arm sounds pretty painful.

I thought just the same... Rockwell jump -> Michael's boots at some point..

or whether they represent so much of the same, that some genius (disc company / Berry Gordy /...) that they combine into a single human being... and therefore can do things together and one can rest in between and not disappoint the fans even if the sick... But still why Rockwell? Why not a brother?

About the right arm comment Berry made at the memorial, it is very intriguing to say the least..

In business terms, in french any way dont know about english, to be someone's right arm is to be the primary assistant, the one who handles everything for you while you are taking care of business. So if we take it in this sense what could it mean what Berry said?

This phrase is also common in german in the same sense.
The right arm/hand is often also legitimated to sign for the person that empowered him/her.

What kid wouldn't give his right arm to fulfill his wildest dreams? -

Assuming that the "right arm" was Rockwell, and the "kid" was Michael, I´d say that Rockwell got sacrificed in a way.
But maybe quite the reverse and Berry Gordy refers with "the kid" to Rockwell (his son) who switched his former position as the right arm of Michael? - Not sure...   :|

I find a article that is a little satirical in its nature, but the author
is basically saying that now Michael gone, Rockwell can make
his comeback.  :|
Will try to find the link.

Michael Jackson's legacy: Now that Jacko's gone, can Rockwell finally get some attention?
 December 09, 2009 10:36 AM EST (Updated: December 09, 2009 10:55 AM EST)
The latest Geico insurance commercials feature the song, "Somebody's Watching Me," by one-hit wonder Rockwell.  It's a familiar number that was often mistaken for a Michael Jackson song, and Rockwell even had a similar vibe as Jacko.
But, in actuality, Michael Jackson was a childhood friend of Rockwell (Kenneth Gordy)and sang backup on the 1983 release along with brother Jermaine Jackson.
Watching the video when it was in heavy rotation, who did not ponder if Rockwell could be the next Jacko? A guy at the neighborhood record store declared Rockwell as "the U.K.'s answer to Michael Jackson." Turns out he was wrong about Rockwell not being American. Maybe Rockwell is one of those artists who was more popular somewhere else, like Cher in England, Cheap Trick in Japan or Corey Hart in Canada, eh?
It was difficult to catch up on Rockwell before Wikipedia was born. Bur our prayers are finally answered. Now, we've learned, Rockwell actually got on the Motown label on his own merits and without the help of relatives who were already established in the business. Turns out he had more than one tune that made the Top 40 ("Obscene Phone Caller" made it to No. 35). And apparently his intent wasn't to be just a cheap imitation of Michael Jackson.
Still, someone has got to fill the void. So how about it Rockwell? Care to claim what is rightfully yours?  If not you, who else? Come out, come out where ever you are....

Here is expected fanatic comment to article above,he say "and why would you write about Rockwell"! and then underneath
Aaron's response.  Nothing really here, but thought it of some interest
that Rockwell was discussed.
It sort of humorous, but gives me the continuance of weird vibes too.

STOP CALLING HIM JACKO FOR GOD'S SAKE, WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?? IT'S SO RUDE, HIS NAME IS MICHAEL JACKSON IT'S LIKE THE EASIEST NAME IN THE WORLD TO SPELL!!!OR CALL HIM MJ THAT'S EVEN EASIER BECAUSE YOUR OBVIOUSLY ALITTLE SLOW, NO ONE CAN FILL THE VOID MICHAEL LEFT AND WHY WOULD YOU WRITE ABOUT ROCKWELL, HE'S SO INSIGNIFICANT WHEN IT COMES TO MUSIC, HOW CAN HE DO ANYTHING NOTEWORTHY NOW??? HOW COULD HE TAKE MICHAEL'S SPOT IDIOT. HIS SISTER JANET IS SOMEONE WHO WILL CARRY ON THE JACKSON LEGACY!!

My question for all of you is: WILL you get in on the ground floor when Rockwell makes him comeback, or will you just jump on the bandwagon later?

So one last comment I forgot to make earlier on.
WHY wasn't Rockwell at funeral or memorial.  Or if he was, my
mistake, as I could not recognize him?  Did anyone recognize
him?

I was in the postoffice paying some bills this morning and this song comes on.  I work in a mall and have done for many years and I know all the music that is played for people as they shop  and  I'm familiar with the order that they are played in knowing  what is going to come on next. And out of the blue today Somebody's watching me comes on. What the?

I vaguely remember reading a couple of stories-or theories-concerning this Rockwell. 1)He died and 2)He assumed MJ's identity in the early 90's because MJ was either unwilling or unable to continue in the spotlight. It really piques my curiosity as it is impossible to dig for any information on this Rockwell (Kennedy/Kenneth William Gordy).  Someone out there who has the capacity to really check into this should do so. I think it may provide us some answers.

It is very odd we cant find anything on Rockwell, his father is Berry Gordy after all!!! And Rockwell use to be in the public's eye. It just makes absolutely no sense at all!! IMO

Please post your theory.  So is this Marlon or Marlon's TWIN???
Michael's double.
FACTS:
Birth records are SEALED.  Michael had between 1 to 3 years
shaved off early age for publicity reasons.
I am not so sure this is Marlon or twin, but Kenneth-Michael's double.

From June 25,09, I had this feeling that Michael wanted to tell the
world something and this resulted in trouble for him.  Berry's statement
was a precautionary word in advance, if we start finding out.
This one song is the only one that has reverberated in my mind since
"death".   I am not psychic, but will tell my Michael radar would go
off at weird times over the years and in 2007-2008, I cannot shake him.
Now, I can't shake him and this Kenneth and this song!

he has a profile with appletree.com. that's pretty much all there is to find except 'rockwell'-stuff. but that only seems to be an entry in a family tree or something. no death date, tho. but the connection is interesting that mj was allegedly in berry gordy's tomb...maybe all that was just to pull up that song again and listen closely...

i also find it weird that there is no current info on kennedy gordy anywhere...and that obviously none of gordy's children were either at the memorial nor at the funeral? but then, i wouldn't know what any of them look like now, anyway.

major clue or minor? dunno...personally, i'd go with the 'bam'-verse of the song...

Very interesting that you have the same feelings as me! I am still looking more into it, and this will probably be the only thing I do today is hunt for that last bit of info I need regarding kennedy/rockwell. It's funny you say about the song..... well the thing was a week after michael passed I got an urge to change my ringtone on my mobile from billie jean to somebodys watching me.... There is definately something that drew me to rockwell since the 25th june. I was kinda relieved when I saw this post lol as I thought I may have been sneered at for even having such thoughts!

I have been thinking about that statement that Marlon gave at the memorial about his twin brother Brandon. Why would he mention Brandon knowing that MJ is alive? Was that a clue?

Yep, there was the comment made from marlon about his twin brandon. Also the fact that MJ awas supposedly kept in Berry Gordys crypt. And the comments made by Berry at the memorial..... im sure something involving rockwell or the gordy family as a whole is staring us right in the face as a big big clue, but still as yet cannot put my finger on it.

Is Brandon really Rockwell and has he died? The whole empty Gordy crypt feels odd to me and how rumor had it that Michael was placed there for awhile.

from wiki about Marlon:
On July 7, 2009, he and his family offered their final eulogies for Michael, saying he was the "soul" of the family, and breaking down as he tearfully addressed the crowd: "Maybe now Michael, they will leave you alone"[1]  and "I would like for you to give our brother, my twin brother, Brandon, a hug for me".[2]  Marlon fought back tears as he said "I love you Michael & I miss you".[1]

So I run this by someone else and that person immediately
chimes up with this.
"Was this the "other son" that Berry Gordy took?" (From Dancing the
Dream).
Was Rockwell originally a Jackson?  Was he Marlon's twin
brother?  Did he indeed die, but not at birth?

IF we put everything into the comment that Marlon gave at
the memorial, then we have to believe Michael is dead as
well?

I have also just read somewhere that Kennedy wasnt aware of who his father was for some time, and that they actually came together via an accidental meeting or something (only read it quickly cos was more interested in another pic i found).... dont know if the story holds any truth behind it - like a fool i never saved the link so will go hunt again for it now. Somethihng very very fishy here!

*** APOLOGIES FOLKS *** Seems I was a little overtired when I saw the link I was on about and mistook it for kennedy when the subject was actually about kerry his other son. Apologies for my mistake. Need some sleep lol.... been hunting and hunting solid for 3 days on Kennedy flaming Gordy - theres not alot on the net about him at all.... apart from one picture I wanted to share with you all of Kennedy aged 7..... sooooooo looks like someone haha!

This is so weird that when I typed his name into Google the first thing that came up was a site with a lot of people *some of them a bit off the wall I think...no pun intended* but anyway still it sparked my attention that they were also talking away about Rockwell posing as Michael or being the double we are all wondering about!!! I'm starting to think this may be the mother load we have all been speculating about for so long. I mean this guy is like the spitting image of Marlon Jackson but he's suppose to be only about 46 years old right now. My question is....is he Marlon's twin now deceased or is he just a coincidental look alike that became Michael for awhile. And just what all does Berry Gordy know?

Seems a little odd to me that "rockwell" was born Kennedy William Gordy, however for some reason his name was changed after this to Kenneth William Gordy, this change of name took place before adulthood, so for some reason the parents must have changed it. He played a boy in a Doris Day t.v episode called "Whodunnit Doris?" ,  under the name Kenneth W Gordy? Why the name change? Its listed on his IMBD profile aswell as various links on the net.

I was just pondering something a bit random but I'll throw it out here anyway. Being we cannot find anything solid about Rockwell or Kennedy or whatever his name is, has anyone ever seen a photo of him and Michael together at any age??? I just wonder if Rockwell was not Michael in disguise back in the day simply recording under a different name to play a game with fans and naturally Berry Gordy would have probably been ok with it being he sort of saw him as a son anyway? Any opinions on this or can someone come up with a photo to shoot this theory down lol. The only childhood photo I have ever seen of Rockwell looks just like Michael so I wonder if this is possible.
Peace

Interesting! this proves that Michael can be hidden in plain sight if no one noticed he sang the chorus who's to say if he had lended his vocals in other songs! and the Thriller connection in the Video is cool 8-)

Nefari, there is a picture on THIS thread of Rockwell and Michael.  :)
I write this with best intent, but please people read the entire threads
and that will help with adding the new information.  8-)  Your input
is invaluable so keep digging!

Some stumbling blocks are that dates are off, pictures are off,
and names are off.  Has this been deliberate all along?  Man, we
think we sharp, but until now, have just believed what we see or
hear.
Re-watch the video of Somebody Watching Me; that symbolism taken
on another level is odd.  Notice the emaciated white male and the
mail man.

It looks recent - and very cute!   :D

Btw I like Marlon a lot. His speech at the Memorial moved me deeply...

OOops my bad. I'm sorry I should have gone back and looked at each photo before I posted. Well at least that answered my question though. Hmmm so Michael and Rockwell are 2 different people at least. But the guy is still MIA :(
I wish there was a thread or site somewhere like "Rockwell where is he now!" type thing to put this theory to rest somehow.

Rockwell has some moves, but he seems to be really holding back
on his performances.  check out around 2:15 in video.
Still, something wrong because if you listen to his songs, in some
he sound a little british and others not.

Rockwell is the same as the MJ-style clothes white shirt and black pants in that video: Peeping Tom  ;)

and here is another video where Rockwell has a red shirt and a bad-style jacket and black trousers.

but a strange coincidence again, even the same kind of clothing style, black and white or red and black, like MJ  ;)

I just watched this video and the lips just don't match up with the audio. Is Rockwell lip syncing or is this bad tape????  I wonder if he is lip syncing because his facial expressions/body language don't match up to the vocals. This is a high energy song and he just looks kinda passive through it all as he lurks around the stage---which is odd.

Could, by any stretch of the imagination, this song be an MJ song....I mean fully sung by MJ???? Yes, the back-ups are clearly MJ but could MJ have disguised his voice for the rest of the song and credited it to a fictitious Rockwell because MJ's producers didn't want him to chance an already successful career with something so different from what he was doing????

Rockwell clearly looks uncomfortable having to lip sync this
video.  He is holding back.
So, I find on Facebook, Rockwell; his AUNT (or someone
who claims to be his aunt) is asking him to get in touch with her!

And some friend from 90's is looking for him also.  I will try to
find the link unless someone has it?   I haven't checked in a while.

My mind is a bit rusty....but other than the quote above did Marlon ever state that his twin brother was dead or in Heaven during that speech???? Because if you read the direct quote above there is no indication that either MJ or Brandon are dead.  Hmmm.....makes me wonder!!!!

I think it just odd that the picture of baby only, and then it says
" I grew up in Chicago".  and then there is a map, that shows
the proximity of Chicago and Gary, Indiana.
Plus, the way it suddenly shows up after this forum discussion.

The whole speech of Marlon is on Mo&Souzas Blog: http://michaeljacksonhoaxforum.com/blog.php

Marlon speaks euphemistically about Michaels "return home" from his "short visit here from earth". And "Michael you’re there, you’re right there. You have finished your work here on earth and the Lord has called for you to come home with Him."

So he is spreaking about Michaels passing as it is expected on a memorial ;)

But when I click on the above link you posted, I get to old MJkit forum and in there in one of the posts, I clicked on a supplied link that brought me to his forum.,.. :?  How is that possible? I didn't think this one existed back in august when the link was posted.

Another thing, was Berry Gordy's daughter on the forum?

A random thought just came to me about that speech with MJ and Janet, where Michael said, "Now that puts another rumor to rest, Janet and I really are two different people." Could there be another meaning to this, like Michael being two different people?

Hey RagDoll, you cannot possibly make this more complicated!  :)
You are right in regards to Chicago, independently of the baby,
I come to Chicago.
There are two possibilities, but have not looked into Barry Shaw yet.
One is mundane and ordinary, and I hope this is case for Kenneth.
If so, we will hear more shortly.
Thank you for posting, I think everyone forget about Rockwell allready.

I have been reading this thread with some great interest and I decided to google Margaret Norton (Gordy's mistress) and this came up (among other things), but take a look at the coat of arms for the Norton family

The Lion and the Crown .... not sure if this has been covered but we all know there have been clues left on his shirt, etc. of lions and crowns....maybe there is a connection to Rockwell...guess we need to dig a little deeper :D

The date of births are different, but in a simple way.. Just move the 1 and add it to the year.
Rockwell: March 15 1964
Barry:  March 5 1965
Numerology still adds up the same that way.. 3 + 1 + 5 + 1 + 9 + 6 + 4 = 29 = 11 = 2

Hmmm.. I think it's worth keeping an open and cautious mind about Barry for now.

Something just happened here with me a few moments ago. I bought a 35 DVD set of Michael's various concerts, videos etc...back in December and there were 2 music CDs included with the set. Well I've been so involved with watching the DVDs I had not even listened to the CDs until moments ago I put one in and so help me there's the infamous "Somebody's Watchin Me" song in a mix version repeating just Michael's part over and over!!! It sort of jumped out at me like um....yeah and where the heck is Rockwell now???? And where has he been or WHO has he been all these years?

Jennie: exactly, that's the point I agree, it's just Michael singing the "I always feel like somebodies watching me......" and a mix beat etc....and it jumped out at me because of everything going on with Michael's "death" and I'm like *Why Now?* This song is OLD , never a huge chart topper, and if Geico wouldn't have revived it mysteriously I'm not sure when we would have heard it again. It has to have some sort of importance or meaning other than the fact that Michael sings on it.

Hmm... ok if it is MIchael always singing "somebody's watching me", maybe it could be a hint to the true fans why Michael had to do. Like he felt he was being watched, followed, or even stalked and was in danger... :?   I dont know, this is pure speculation though but we never know and I sure hope we will know someday.

I feel like trying to e-mail Toraborrelli to ask him about Rockwell, where he is,if he's heard anything of him in the past years... hmm..
