They said it is the result of a media shower.  Funny how the weather service is the one to identify it and the military is silent.

Wow - that must have been spectacular to see but probably scary too. Thanks for sharing.

ive seen meteor showers before with both my naked eye and a telescope, but this was much different than anything i ever saw...im not speculating what it is 1 way or another, but, im not ready to take their explanation as a fact yet...so many other things are covered up, im sure something in our airways would cause even more of a hush hush mentality..

What is going on in the world this year, it seems like it's been one weird thing after another. Weather has been mental here in Ireland and U.K. anyway, so many earthquakes, flooding this fireball and the volcano in Iceland and probably some i've left out. I find it really scary.

I saw and heard this with my very own ears/eyes last night and yet am skeptical as to whether it was a meteor. How can anyone know it wasn't something more significant----like a missle etc.?????

I didn't see it personally, just watched the video.  You would think something that big would leave a big "dent" in the earth.  They said that no meteor hit in the mid west.  I find this strange to say the least.

The meteor wasn't specially crashed in the midwest. If you see it in the atmosphere it can crashed thousand kilometers around.
