5 Journalism Rules the Media Completely Ignore (especially when it comes to Michael Jackson)Category: Justice, MJ Quotes, Photos — Seven @ 2:57 am •His blood is on their presses and on their hands. If the media had not spent decades lying, twisting facts, distorting, sensationalizing, ignoring facts, making things up, deceiving, misleading, humiliating and crucifying Michael Jackson in the court of ‘public opinion’, he’d likely still be alive today.What they did to this man for DECADES is, very simply – ABUSE. Barbaric verbal and psychological ABUSE. The SAME type of abuse inflicted on prisoners in places like Abu Ghraib (some of which broke international laws) and he SAME type of abuse inflicted on victims of domestic violence (verbal and psychological abuse always precedes or accompanies physical abuse and is just as damaging to the victim if not more so).Abusive Medialoid Press Feeds Tabloid Junkie HabitsThe media’s culpability in sending this man to an early grave will not be ignored. THEY won’t admit it. They’re still selling the lies. And the tabloid/media junkies (aka Ignorami) still believe them.They have no integrity at all. HOW MANY of the media have apologized to Michael and his family for accusing him of “bleaching his skin because he didn’t want to be black” for decades – now that the coroner’s report VERIFIES that he did indeed have vitiligo? This is something that Michael told the press in various interviews over the years, however, they chose to ignore him.Now that what Michael told them is verified, WILL THEY ADMIT THEY were WRONG? NOT ONE has stepped forward to do so yet.Even though Michael was acquitted on 14 charges in 2005, many in the media seem to think they are qualified to overturn a verdict handed down in a court of law – in their own court of public opinion. Bereft of any facts regarding the case and apparently as disinterested in them as they are the facts surrounding Michael’s murder, WHAT qualifies them to overturn that verdict?Currently, the media(loids) are busily convicting Michael Jackson in the court of public opinion of his own murder, while portraying the negligent doctor who carelessly administered him a dangerous drug he was not qualified to administer, in an inadequate and incorrect setting - as totally innocent.• • •HERE are the 5 rules from a book on Journalism that NONE of the media seems to have read – or, that they simply choose to ignore due to their blatant and ever-increasing lack of integrity:1. Do not add – Do not add things that did not happen2. Do not deceive – Never mislead the audience. Fooling people is a form of lying and it mocks the idea that journalism is committed to truthfulness3. Transparency – If journalists are truth seekers, it must follow that they be honest and truthful with their audiences, too-that they be truth presenters4. Misleading sources: A corollary to transparency – Obviously journalists should not lie to or mislead their sources in the process of trying to tell the truth to their audience5. Humility – Journalists should be humble about their own skills. In other words, not only should they be skeptical of what they see and hear from others, but just as important, they should be skeptical about their ability to know what it really means.Don’t judge a person by what you hear or read….there is so much tabloid sensationalism. Don’t fall prey to it. It’s ugly. I’d like to take all of the tabloids and burn them…..Some of them try to disguise themselves, but they are still tabloids.- Michael Jackson_ _ _{ Thanks to my friend Alexandra for finding these ‘5 Rules of Journalism’, and to my friend Victoria for the MJ quote. Since a commenter asked, the name of the referenced book containing these 5 rules is: ‘The Elements of Journalism: What Newspeople Should Know and The Public Should Expect‘ -Seven }
